> We know from one study that people who played tennis a few times per week lived roughly 10 years longer than average. So we'll use that value going forward.

There has to be some incredible correlation between having the time and money to play tennis “a few times per week” and being significantly wealthier than the average person. And being wealthy is clearly the healthiest thing you can do.

Of all the excuses I’ve seen here, this one is particularly hilarious. Have you never lived in a city? There are public courts everywhere.

>Wake up at 4:30am

About that, what hours people that wake up at 4.30 am go to bed? If they're so conscious about their well being I'd assume at least 8 hours of sleep, so maybe they go to bed at... 8~9 pm? my question is what do they do to end their day at 9pm? If you work 9-5, you have just 4 hours left after work. Less if you commute, have dinner and a "go to be" routine of maybe 30 min. How about social life after work? Run errands? In my case, if I need to do anything out of my house it has to be after work hours (because almost everything is closed between 6am and 9am when I start work).

So, what's the secret?

IAmGraydon · 3 hours ago
I get up at 5am to work out. I don’t need 8 hours of sleep - 6.5 works fine for me. Sleep by 10:30pm. It’s not that hard. Most people here are going to try to figure out a reason why they can’t do it because it‘s easier than admitting they’re just too lazy and/or lack the will.

Looking through this thread is hilarious. The top comment is a guy claiming that the author must be rich because he plays tennis (what kind of bumpkin says this?) and that’s the true secret to his health. It’s all just excuses. Those who want it go and get it.

While I think LLMs are not the pathway to AGI, this bubble narrative appears to be a concerted propaganda campaign intended to get people to sell, and it all started with Altman, the guy who was responsible for always pumping up the bubble. I don't know who else is behind this, but the Telegraph appears to be a major outlet of these stories. Just today alone:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/08/20/ai-report-tr...https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/08/21/we-may-be-fa...https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/08/21/zuckerberg-f...

Other media outlets are also making a massive push of this narrative. If they get their way, they may actually cause a massive selloff, letting everyone who profited from the giant bubble they created buy everything up cheap.

I don't have an opinion on whether this is a good idea or not. I don't know enough about the chip industry or Intel's place in it.

But I do know that the President's party used to assert that the government must not pick winners and losers. It's precisely those grounds on which they reject everything Sanders stands for. So I find this odd.

They’re hypocrites who have no actual substance. They simply hate whatever their enemy holds dear and support whatever their enemy hates.

Digg failed because they weren't listening to what the users wanted. Reddit has been doing the same thing for a long time, and there's a large number of people looking for somewhere to migrate to. It'd be hilarious if New Digg becomes that, but I'm feeling pretty skeptical that New Digg is going to be any better. What little I've seen about New Digg talks about crypto, AI, and "Gems" you can earn which is far from a good sign.
IAmGraydon · 3 days ago
As someone who was very active on Digg, it failed because of a massive all-at-once redesign (Digg v4) that made it unrecognizable to those who considered it home. It’s basically the go-to case study in how not to do an overhaul.

For someone who supposedly spends so much time on the golf course, how does Trump seem to manage to stick his fingers in so many new pies, day after day. Who is (or are) the real puppet master(s) pulling his strings?
IAmGraydon · 4 days ago
It’s the Heritage Foundation. He knows they’re poison so he’s going to feed it to the US as revenge for attempting to hold him accountable for being among the worst human beings to have ever lived. He literally doesn’t care how bad it turns out because he knows he’s old and doesn’t have more than a decade left.

AI is already so much better than 99% of customer support employees.

It also improves brand reputation by actually paying attention to what customers are saying and responding in a timely manner, with expert-level knowledge, unlike typical customer service reps.

I've used LLMs to help me fix Windows issues using pretty advanced methods, that MS employees would have just told me to either re-install Windows or send them the laptop and pay $hundreds.

IAmGraydon · 5 days ago
MS customer service is perhaps the lowest bar available. One look at their tech support forums tells you that most of what they post is canned garbage that is no help to anyone.

AI is not better than a good customer service team, or even an above-average one. It is better than a broken customer service team, however. As others have noted, 99% is hyperbolic BS.

The leadership of the big AI companies have made some pretty extreme promises on timelines and capabilities. I wonder he’s changing his tune because he’s worried investors will sue him once the man behind the curtain is revealed.
IAmGraydon · 5 days ago
Who knows, but one thing that always holds true about Sam Altman is that what he said is not to be trusted. From all the way back to his days at Reddit, he's shown himself to say whatever is necessary to win. His recent comment struck me as strange because if there's one person who is always going to great lengths to pump the bubble up as much as possible, it's Sam Altman.
