Until we have many redundant layers of backup, the risk of drugging copilot and going down is a non zero risk that triggered many of these policies.

I’m concerned with anyone proposing “Medicare for all” in America, because they all state - for doctors who want to stay out of the system, they can be paid directly… that immediately causes a slightly different 2 tier system. Right now our 2 tier system is the 90% with health insurance and the 10% without health insurance. In the new Medicare for all, it will be the 99.9% on government insurance, and the 0.1% - the ultra wealthy - who dominate tax policy and are heavily financially incentivized to reduce their tax contributions to the public system. They will influence politicians to spend less on healthcare, with no impact to their health outcomes. The only system which will work in the US is one in which the ultra wealthy have an incentive to provide funding to the public system, and that seems like you’d need to force them to be on the public system too.

This is precisely what allows for the NHS to be cannibalized. They underfunded one of the best systems of healthcare and replaced it with private care for ultra wealthy while reducing quality of care for vast majority of people.

The US has seen six governments since Woodstock ‘99, alternating the ruling party almost perfectly every four years: Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, Biden and Trump again.

Venezuela has seen only two presidents in 26 years, Chavez and Maduro, and both belong to the same ruling party.

And some US allies have seen no change, I’m hoping that’s not a metric for which countries to invade.

Wing-nut? Is that now the census for the majority of the world outside of the US and UK? If we’re looking at legal precedent, then not taking action could see massive legal challenges that could destroy Microsoft for complicity in genocide.

My 4090 is so heavy that it was starting to bend downwards because of gravity, and I was concerned the connector would end up snapping. So I started looking around for objects of the appropriate size I could use to stop this from happening. Long story short, my computer now has a Rubik cube lodged between the gpu and the psu.

If this one were shown in a US work environment, I might say a collegial something privately to the person, about it not seeming the most work-appropriate.

I think I’d probably say that the prompts are telling me more about the author than I think is necessary for these tests… I hope they were at least sampled from responses.

What do you mean by 'that price'? Are there heavy import tariffs or another artificial reason why you can't order from the same chinese manufacturers as germany does?

I would have thought that the issue is purchasing power inequality between germany and indonesia, not that they're not available globally at a similar price

PieTime · 2 months ago
Some countries with state gas or utility monopoly will ensure legislation blocks solar power. Example Thailand has huge solar potential but cheap gas, so they block solar panel installations

Yes, there is inequality as can be seen in Pakistan. But once restrictions are dropped the solar panels take off.

We're living in state of anarcho-tyranny. The state is totally unable to stop shoplifters, so companies are increasingly relying on odious technology to handle the problem themselves, which is in turn denied.

The result is we're going to all get punished for it. Increasingly we're going to see a return policy that is less and less flexible until one day it is eliminated altogether.

We’re living in a time of income inequality and this is the natural result.
