They don't share chats with others unless you click the "Share" button to share the chats.

They are private by default. It's basically the same as every other AI chat app.

Paste the entire thing into the LLM! Maybe people can stop relying on unreliable partisan sources to interpret bills if they have tools to grok the dense weird language in them themselves. I say this even though I was embarrassed yesterday when the LLM misinterpreted something and I posted it - read the reference text behind any summary :/

Government Publishing Office and Library of Congress provides XML formatted bills and all their amendments and a feed of all changes to every bill.

Oh and on the topic of party politics, Bill Clinton was the one who had them put things online in the first place with the GPO Electronic Information Access Enhancement Act, and Barack Obama and the Democrats expanded it via American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 - not the do-nothing Republicans.

Sigh. How much did cutting direct file really save?!
thuanao · 3 months ago
It was cut because tax preparing companies pay the politicians to cut it.

In my experience the paper forms are so much easier and more reliable than using tax software. A pen and a form just works. No account logins and passwords, no janky UI, no advertisements, no issues saving your progress... The instructions are much better too. Each box is numbered and there's an instruction manual detailing what to put in that box. If you make mistakes the IRS will simply correct you.

I think machine code and building something like a Forth is way easier to understand than any contemporary programming language toolchain.

Somewhat related: What is with the rampant cursing nowadays? In the US people are openly saying f-word in professional settings, in public to strangers or acquaintances, in writing and video... seemingly everywhere even in calm normal conversations.

I don't remember it being like this decades ago. Is it just me? I remember people used to curse only in private conversation, when angry, and never at the office in meetings and professional contexts.

thuanao commented on Ask HN: Anyone making a living from a paid API?    · Posted by u/meander_water

not an api but, Internally we’re just looking for a native text to speach app that auto records all meetings and call a webhook with the transcript. not the notes! for some reason all most rmeetings apps gives you only notes and seldomly a webhook or similar. also not interested in zapier etc.

After two weeks off looking for a solution, we’re going to vibe code something basic and use deepgram. If we just skipped the shopping around, the solution would be live already..

Recall.ai is exactly this. Using them at my current company and it works well. It even supports live transcription.

> Simplified: PMs handoff to Design handoff to Development.

This is the Waterfall process (the bad one Royce said not to do, and the one the DOD went and codified). Don't do this. Use an iterative model and don't use hard barriers between "phases" of development.

How else are product managers and designers supposed to justify their existence?
