Readit NewsIt’s pretty clear that October 7th was the excuse the Israeli leadership was waiting for. They finally have causus belli to pacify Gaza one way or another. They might not raze it to the ground, that would have bad optics, but they’re certainly going to try to make life there unpleasant enough that the locals won’t protest too much if they’re forcefully relocated elsewhere.
A lot of western commentators are up in arms about the mistreatment and suffering but they’re missing the bigger picture: that’s the point. The suffering is the goal, not a side effect. The quiet part has been said out load enough (thanks Trump!) that we can’t act surprised.
What actually happens in the next couple of years hinges on how much political capital Bibi has left and how hard the general populace of Israel protests the atrocities committed in their name.

Are there any voting systems that weight votes based on expected remaining lifespan?
I think this is a good idea, given we now see how selfishly most people vote. If an 80 year old man is going to vote only for his immediate self interest and not even for his own generational legacy, then his vote shouldn't count as much as a 22 year old struggling to establish a sustainable future for themselves.
I was raised to champion the elderly for their life wisdom but it's starting to seem like society has been changing so rapidly that they no longer understand what's actually going on

Cool, however “ Opening the Weather app every morning is too much effort” - is it really? And even if it was, don't most mobile OSes support having a Lock Screen weather widget you can check at a glance?
Yeah on my Android device I use an app called Breezy Weather [1] which shows me the temp, weather, and air quality on my lock screen.
I'd love to figure out how to get an hourly weather widget on the lock screen though.
Not sure why you would tie pure compensation (a greedy concept) with goals that align exactly to the opposite.
