Wut?
I reckon people will start caring about their despots if they expect to live a millennium under the despots' boot
If you were expecting to live a much longer life, people might grow more fearful about the consequences of speaking up against a dictator.
This is incorrect.
Germany decided to phase out nuclear power after the Fukushima desaster. This was well into Merkels's chancellorship, and there are still nuclear power plants.
Oil hasn't been consistently cheap since 2003, it is only going to get more expensive. We've consistently been using more of the stuff than gets discovered since the 1980s. There is only one way the story ends.
When I see for-rent scooters dumped blocking public commons, I stop and throw them in the nearest gutter, dumpster, sewer, or river to hold the companies responsible for their users monetarily.
If I see a pizza-delivery robot going 5 mph in a bike lane, I'm going to kick it to the curb or run-over it. And, I'll make sure everyone else does the same. They can pay bike messengers who need the work rather than being job-stealing, pointless automation assholes.
Was that statement accidental horrible wording or did you actually mean it ?
If the latter, then you must be one of those many Americans that needs to travel more. The rest of the world are not neanderthals who've never heard of credit cards.
Go to Kenya (Africa) and the only reason you might struggle to pay by credit card is if the merchant has decided to prefer payments via the M-PESA money transfer phone app instead which is what most of the locals use. So you could say a number of non-US countries are even ahead of the US !
But of course I hope your wording was accidental, in which case I apologise for the three paragraphs above. ;-)
