IHMC has been working on various legged robots for a long time. Back in 201X, my sister team worked on a running robot inspired by Ostriches (while I was on the Exoskeleton). Looks like they are mostly focusing on humanoid and Exo now. http://robots.ihmc.us/fastrunner

I concur. Where are all the employees? Labour force participation has collapsed over a number of years, but where are all the people if not getting some unemployment somewhere? It seems every retailer I pass in every city has a sign up right now looking for employees.

Some stayed at home to take care of the kids. Others upleveled and went for jobs that pay better wages. A bunch of people died as well, I wonder of this affected the job market. I'd love to read a study on this specific topic.

So I'm supposed to trust that they will never have a data breach? For the lifetime of the company? And for all subsequent acquirers?

They don’t store the ID.

Where does the need for hard verification of the age come from?

My friends and I were using the internet when we were under 13 years old (although not by much), and just clicked the button to confirm that we are older than 13 (mostly on various forums), and later on the same thing with 18 years old verification screens, and we turned out alright (at least from my perspective.)

Depending on the country, it can be due to local regulation. I don’t think it is required yet in the US E.g. AVMS in Europe. Youtube had to implement age verification.

I really enjoyed this SciFi book - Dark Matter: A Novel

In this world he’s woken up to, Jason’s life is not the one he knows. His wife is not his wife. His son was never born. And Jason is not an ordinary college physics professor, but a celebrated genius who has achieved something remarkable. Something impossible.

Another good one from the same author - Recursion: A Novel https://www.amazon.com/dp/1524759783/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_G0...

If you are past team matching phase then it is likely that you would get an offer.

Note: I don't represent Google.

daleco · 5 years ago
What makes you think that? I’m past team matching, HC, and VP. I’d be so disappointed to make it so far and not get the offer...

I’ve been stuck in the final SVP approval part of their hiring process for a week. At this point I think I’m just going to keep my current job. Too bad — seemed like a good time to get equity at a good “strike” price

I’m also stuck at the SVP approval since 8 days...

Can anyone tell me why stocks are up after 3.2m new jobless people as of 3/21, and 10 year treasury yields are down? It looks like people are rushing towards both stocks and 10 year notes.

I read that the stimulus bill is offering a forgivable loan for small businesses if they don’t layoff. Basically taxpayers paying for employees salary. Let me see if I can find the source...

This could be one of many reasons.

[edit] here we go, forgivable loan of up to 10 million, based on the company payroll https://www.inc.com/kevin-j-ryan/inc-chamber-of-commerce-sma...

Hi David, Thanks for doing that. As someone that was affected by the layoffs, this is really helpful.

Currently on the final round with Facebook, they mentioned that they hire L5 and above. E3 & E4 is on hold.
