How does it trace syscalls on macos? Do you need to disable SIP?

I’d actually say it’s the safety culture that’s missing. Go have a phone call with someone at Shell and they’ll ask you if you’re in a safe place to have a call and if you know where the emergency exits are before starting the call. And the safety culture comes from the top regardless of if you’re an engineer or lawyer, or finance exec.

Sounds great! I introduced bike helmets for my team members to wear at office for additional safety and everybody’s loving it!

Old HP was something special, people here might not be aware that they were a leading test equipment company back then not just a PC maker. That business was spun off as Agilent then spun off again as Keysight.

At a previous job we purchased a 3458a multimeter for some precision measurements. Its use cases are more limited now than in 1989 when it was introduced, but for high precision it's still the standard and the design is practically unchanged. They published a very in depth article on its ADC design at the time.

What I have experienced is Google banning my account and deleting all my GCP resources on a different Google account (I used the multi-login feature and they banned all my accounts) because of a years-old Youtube comment that wasn't even a bad one - just not mainstream political opinion but respectful, today /year after the report+ban/ said opinion is mainstream (I talked about Russian aggression).

If you like your business, run like hell

I haven't ever written or participated in anything political or controversial through any of my google accounts over more than 15 years I've had them. I'm beginning to reach the same conclusion as you on the matter.

I've seen cool computer vision demos that run client-side in the browser, so I hope they don't stream the feed. OTOH if they do stream, warning the user would go a long way.

"designed on a 24x24 pixels grid"

They're vector-based, so how are pixels involved?

brutopia · 4 years ago
I guess it means the graphics are aligned on a 24x24 grid where applicable for visual unity.

Why should you have to shut yourself away from a large section of modern daily life just to not be the subject of abuse? Why is not even an option to work to fix the abuse?
brutopia · 4 years ago
The technology isn’t the problem, it’s us. Our primitive instincts just aren’t compatible to deal with such big groups of other people anonymous or not.
brutopia commented on Sauna use as a lifestyle practice to extend healthspan   sciencedirect.com/science... · Posted by u/allenleee

The sweat does vaporize, but I still think keeping it hot helps to clean it maybe? I also like the smell of a hot sauna. The main reason I don't do that and I run the dehumidifier is that I like to flip the power off to the sauna at the panel when I am done, just in case. The dehumidifier is heavy duty fwiw.
brutopia · 5 years ago
Sounds good then! I'd try running it hot after use -trick to see if it makes any difference. You could probably get good 50 years of use out of it if you treat the wooden parts inside with oil such as [1]. The sauna should be extremely dry before treating it and you can do that by running it couple of hours hot without using. The oil needs to be non toxic and non water soluble so high temperatures won't vaporize any toxins from it to your breathing air. It deepens the color of the wood a bit but should look even better.
