That is your opinion. The role of government should be whatever the citizens decide through democratic processes. If they want the government to go around feeding people from milk bottles, that is what it will be. If they decide it is to run the fight club that decides who eats and who dies, that will be its role. Americans have decided that the role of government is going to be closer to the second than the first, as is their right. Other countries lie in a different points in the continuum, but they are not any more wrong.

Yeah it's the opinion of the western world. "We hold these truths to be self evident" is the preamble.

These truths are not self evident to other cultures. Like yours

If people are working full time yet still in poverty, they will need government services like food stamps. In this scenario your tax dollars subsidize businesses that pay poverty wages. Wal Mart is the top employer of SNAP and Medicaid recipients. You would rather subsidize Wal Mart’s margins with your tax dollars?

I think the role of government is limited to that of protecting constitutional rights of citizens. People in impoverished countries live with extended family and share income and get along just fine. We shouldn't violate rights of individuals to facilitate a welfare program. That should be handled by families, communities, religious institutions, etc.

It’s entirely possible that this is causal ABs deliberate, ie the reason why boards of these companies have approved large CEO pay packages is so that the CEO will align themselves with the shareholders paying them rather than the workers working for them and cut wages so the money can be returned to shareholders as buybacks.

Wages are not set by a company, they're set by the supply and demand of the market. Adding a minimum wage just criminalizes hiring anyone who is not productive enough to economically justify the minimum. It hurts unskilled poor people the most.

"Everyone".

Basically, you're suggesting that propaganda only works on the feeble-minded and dumb, and "All True Scotsmen" know better than to fall for it.

Wow.

Like for example, your comment makes no sense. It reads like you got paid to write it. You're not contributing anything at all - just expressing that you feel something that most people would call "exaggerated" and "performative" and "embarrassing"

The PR only works on very old people and very low IQ people. It's just brute force at this point. Everyone knows what they're doing.

Everyone here can identify the fake comments. They think they're slick but it's just the Streisand effect at this point.

Well, it feels shaky. First, it starts with:

> There is a growing consensus in theoretical physics that spacetime is not a primitive notion

That’s a very strong statement. I’m not sure what the actual distribution of views on spacetime is, but there certainly isn’t a consensus on that matter. If I wanted to establish credibility, I wouldn’t open a paper with such a dubious claim.

Second, Pauli matrices are highly relevant to space (see: Dirac spinors; but also, they can be used for quaternions—i.e., rotations in 3D). Using Pauli matrices to argue that we live in a 1+3 spacetime feels, at the very least, like a circular argument.

No this has been a talking point by top spacetime theorists for a very long time. E.g. https://www.cornell.edu/video/nima-arkani-hamed-spacetime-is...

I'm fine with it. I don't mind his "attacks" it's just an abstract intellectual topic. Not everyone is high in neuroticism. Some people learn from heated debate. You're only in favor of learning styles that make you feel good? We're debating in good spirit.
