i want to see it go into an infinite loop with an "image recognition software" (one where you feed an image and you get a written description of if)

I think this paper misses the point. If you're a front-end developer, if you have a robust graphql endpoint available to you it's unbelievably amazing and productive.

But providing a robust graphql endpoint that is performant, scalable, secure, etc, is much more difficult than REST. GraphQL is optimizing for a different set of developers, and this paper only studied one group.

Agreed with this, you definitely don't want to be the one implementing it on the backend it is no fun at all and can be quite tricky with all the n+1 you didnt see coming and all that.

>There's no reason we have to make farm work unsafe or low-paying.

Okay. Who is paying for it?

Farming is razor thin margins already. Most people aren't on techie salaries that can afford organic food. Raising the price is just a tax on the poor.

Marinlemaignan · 5 years ago
But, if the price increase is to give a better wage to "the poors" working in the farm, because we need more people working there to produce the same amount organically. Then, they would be able to afford those more expensive products right ?

Cool. Now you have more job opportunities, can keep up with your friends further away and have wider choice of shopping/eating out/etc place. No need to stick to shitty place next door.

Totally.

It does seem like they had a good reason for splitting out search though: "We needed to release search updates independently and changes were frequent."

But yeah, I'm not sure why they are attributing the perf gains to the microservices. Very curious...

Following this logic, nothing should be remotely controlled because there might be security risks. Including OS updates to laptops.

sure but your laptop isn't gonna drive you straight into a wall, would he ?
