I found it to be saccharine and uninspired. Every line felt like some platitude you would find written on a faux distressed wooden sign at HomeGoods.

I see the animated shorts every year and it’s consistently my least favorite one that wins. It’s also usually the one put up by the biggest studio that wins.

I loved Ice Merchants.

Whew, I saw the animated shorts this year and I am rather surprised this won. The best I can say about it is that it clearly had the largest budget?

Can't believe this won. Although I liked the art style, it was painfully mawkish. I was cringing at almost every line.

Maybe the other nominees were worse.

I thought the group this year was actually one of the better ones I can remember, but this one was the worst of the lot.

No, the nominees were great this year. I understand why my favorite, the coming of age teenager story “My Year of Dicks” didn’t win but I don’t understand how anyone watched Ice Merchants and then this one and concluded this was better animated or had a better story. The Ostrich one is also great.

I am not sure I understand the significance of this, anyone care to explain?

Amazon was the first streaming studio to win oscars about five years ago. Bezos incentivizes those employees with bonuses for emmys, oscars and other such awards.

Now Apple won one. Content production keeps users in the respective ecosystems and this is one of the KPIs.

Don't know about this year but last year the ratings were at about 10 million people (used to be 40+ million).

Thursday Night Football is 15+ million. Sunday Football 20+ million.
