I'm hoping there is eventually enough outrage in these areas to change policy. Especially in California, where they are forcing people to rip up their lawns and trying to guilt folks into feeling horrible if they take a shower a minute too long, meanwhile they're doing nothing about what is actually the biggest cause of the problem.

Hip-Hop probably has a higher percentage of this material than almost any other genre, especially once you get to the mixtape/blog era. Unfortunately, most of this material was only released in unofficial forms, often on low-quality MP3s and often with some random dude shouting over the intro. A lot of these tracks were also recorded over unlicensed beats/samples, so even if clean recordings were available official release would be impossible.
That's the killer, right there. For example, the Beastie Boys album Paul's Boutique probably could not be released today as it samples an incredible number of other artists.[0]
Meanwhile, I'm coming from the other side - I'm a musician and I've been wondering why is it I don't care much for the music of the biggest pop star on the planet? Usually when it comes to the "pop tarts" as I call them, they have something I like.
Not so with Taylor Swift.
I've listened to all her top hits. I've tried using AI to find songs I might like based off of other music I like. I've basically come up empty-handed. If there's a song where the music is interesting, it's ruined with her vocals or her simplistic rhyme schemes (I really find her rhyme schemes super annoying!).
The most interesting song she has is Shake It Off. The use of a saxophone in modern pop music is welcome and I find the repetition in lyrics better than her usual rhyme schemes. No surprise it was co-written by Max Martin.
Ahh, the halcyon days of damn near every 80's Top 40 hit.
(I don’t have a source on that, just something I remember hearing years and years ago)
What does it mean for the trust and safety team to be "healthy"? It's such a non-answer to any possible question.
