I can only attest to that. Been using it for 3 years on a Pixel 6a. The only thing I'd wish for, is a scrolling PDF viewer.

In any case, thank you for all the work so far!

It looks like itch.io is partly down ? Is it in relation to this announcement ?

Not loading for me either.

Otherwise great post, though I'd love to have seen the images!

Else, the schematic is here (the first pic is just a shot of the atmega chip): https://ibb.co/8gVbm1XR

BMOF dropped over $10K into those connectors and even then I wondered why does he think he can recoup that. There isnt enough retro enthusiasts to sell enough Floppy Emu. Its been almost 10 years and sounds like he is still sitting at over 9K spares.

He's probably got less than 9,000 left according to the article though :

> I was able to arrange a “group buy”[...]

> Next step: re-ship the majority of these DB-19 connectors to the other people in the group buy.

A bit tengential to the subject here, but maybe someone can tell which kindle is the easiest to jailbreak without it having to be registered ? I see that Windbreak needs device registration and that's a bit of a show stopper for me...

> Is that a euphemism for "Humans are leaving rubbish to pollute another part of the universe?"

Yes, in the same sense that the Pyramids and Stonehenge and the Parthenon are rubbish

IMHO it would be more Yes, in the same sense that mount Everest is covered with all the garbage all the tourists can't be bothered to bring back from their (ego) trip.

On another note, I'm currently reading "Sunburst and Luminary An Apollo Memoir" from Don Eyles, which is a great read that makes you realize the feat it really was at the time.

My main interrogation now (and I've not yet looked anywhere for elements of answer) is why is it so difficult to reproduce with the current tech and scientfic advances ? Is bloatware involved or is the scope really different ?

Use https://docs.filerun.com/resetting_the_superuser_password And if you are a FileRun user, then you have an account on the FileRun forum, which is a more appropriate place to post about this. FileRun free version was provided for 6 years and it was retired last year in May, with a heads-up message sent to everybody who registered. There is no subscription, the 99 EUR is a one time cost with lifetime updates for personal use.

My bad, I was indeed able to re-activate my account by fiddling with the user database. I was mislead by the doc stating the superuser account can't be deactivated, where clearly it can :)

I don't remember reading about the end of the free version but that's probably bad memory on my part. Good to know about the forum and one time payment too.

My apologies and thanks to the filerun dev, I was wrong and ungrateful.
