SEEKING FREELANCER | Remote (West Coast US time zone preferred)

We're a small startup focused on B2B environmental data management, currently wrapping up a significant redesign. We are looking for a UX/UI designer skilled in Figma to continue where our previous designer left off. The project is short-term but could lead to more work.

Ideal if you're comfortable designing for data management and mapping focused applications and can work with some overlap with US PT hours. Experience with any/all of designing for data management, environmental science, and Vue.js would be helpful.

SEEKING FREELANCER | Fully Remote | American (including LAM) and European time-zones only

MorphMarket is the world's biggest marketplace for exotic animals (snakes, lizards, etc.) with over a million users. We're growing fast and branching into aquatics amongst other areas.

*Culture:*

We run a calm, zero politics, zero finger-pointing operation where the focus is on high-quality technical work, on improving as engineers, and on teamwork (in the sense of solving hard problems by communicating and sharing knowledge).

*Location*:

We're based in the US but much of our team is based in the EU so working times where you overlap for approx half the day in the US is fine.

*Technologies*:

You'll need BOTH React Native AND some sort of BE skills. (We use Django, but experience in parallels like Rails/Lavarel/Express is enough if you know the fundamentals well). We specifically need someone who can solve problems that require deep knowledge of both technologies and previous hires missing either of these two weren't able to crack the kinds of problems we're facing.

Knowledge of WebViews is a huge plus.

Other good skills to have

Django Rest Framework, Swift ,Expo ,App release processes and navigating app store challenges ,Shell scripting ,Kotlin ,Heroku ,SQL speed optimization ,React.js ,HTTP caching ,Queue systems ,AWS ,Multi-threaded code ,Long-form technical communication.

*Commitment*

We're looking for 32 hours a week or more, long term. Contractual basis.

A VC-funded AI lab hiring a product designer to work on a new web search product. They're a remote, async, part-time, and contract-first team.

They're looking for both a product designer and a frontend-focused Rails developer to join the team. They're open to a 2-person agency if the skill set matches, because these two folks will be working together.

For data scientists who might be curious about life as a DS at FAANG or applying, i published a blog post about my DS experience at Amazon -https://medium.com/@Sanga_me/my-data-science-experience-at-a...

i got to learn a few things very quickly, and I enjoyed it. ultimately, the biggest benefit is the brand on my resume. work-wise I am not certain that i learned things there that I wouldn't have learned at any other company. Probably like most other companies, your learnings and interest diminishes over time, so you can join, experience and leave when you feel its the right time.
