Does this mean we don’t need to use certbot?
predmijat · 3 months ago
Currently it supports only HTTP-01 challenges (no wildcards, must be reachable).

Landing page immediately sucked me in, and I'm curious about more. I looked at your blog and I was disappointed

Sorry :) That one thing is cool though?

https://sre.rs - DevOps course for small companies and individuals/self-hosters.

I’ve posted this previously, but it’s been more than a year since I published the course and it’s still right about $500/mon.

When I was starting all this, I had higher hopes, but it’s been difficult competing with instructors who already have tens of thousands of students and thousands of reviews - they appear on the first page when you search for a particular subject and “no one” goes past the first page.

Zoxide’s zi command does an interactive z. It is one of my favorite commands

Fuzziness does not seem to be on point for me though, any tips? If I want to `cd` into a directory called `something-with-dashes`, if I do `zi` and then start with `smtw` (omitting the `-`), it doesn't find it. Only when I add `-` it shows up.

On Arch, zfs-linux package has an exact version of linux as a dependency. linux package gets updated fairly often, and by the time zfs-linux package catches up, linux is already on a newer version and you are unable to upgrade.

Sometimes it takes quite a while before those two are in sync and you can upgrade your system.

Will not work, yt is sending requests through https. The only way, as I saw recently would be a script that decodes https and Google's encoded objects and sets some flags to true, making yt believe you have premium or altering them in a way that will make the ad request invalid
predmijat · 2 years ago
It has nothing to do with HTTPS, it's just that ads are served from the same domain.

Apple also advertises their watches as water resistant and shows ads with people swimming. But as soon as you get some water ingress, you are SOL since it is not guaranteed.

And one of my favorite commercials ruins everything with small print at the end: "liquid damage not covered by warranty". This shouldn't be legal :)

I have lots of criticisms of Google, but let's not forget they have Gmail + workspaces,Google Domains, Android, Google Cloud, Google Fiber, Google Fi, The pixel, Nest, Maps, Youtube, Fitbit, and probably the browser 90% of people on here are using. Would losing search devastate them? Absolutely, but they're not exactly IBM levels of irrelevance without it.

Google Domains is sold to Sqaurespace and at least 3 of the things you mentioned are a drop in the ocean.

Yep. I love vim but for big projects I have to use VSCode as I need the extensions.

There’s a ViM plugin for VS Code, of course :)

The first thing I do when I work in an editor with a mini-map is -- turn it off. I find it mostly the most useless feature for coding, and for sites it seems to be equally useless. Why?

1. Stuff is too small to really make out where I'm going or navigating.

2. Short or long pages, both don't really benefit from the loss of screen real-estate. Or the distraction really.

3. Other tools like a proper index with descriptive headers, or the search function work so much better to navigate the page.

Where mini-maps could be awesome are large images, or maps. They tend to visual in nature, and when zoomed in you can look at the mini-map to see where you are in the whole. Which is useful.

So, cool future, but this doesn't really seem like a great implementation.

You can use `figlet` to create banners which are readable in the minimap.
