In the 90's, I was a project manager for a software consulting company. I carried a beeper onsite so my superiors could reach me when needed (e.g. to discuss growing the account). During a lunch meeting one day, two of my bosses at the consulting company suggested that I upgrade to a cell phone, like they had done. I said I was reluctant to do that, because I valued my independence and didn't want to be on a short leash. They both immediately agreed that since they now carried cell phones, their wives called them too often for annoying requests, like stopping to get milk on the way home. I was a bit shocked, because I was talking about them, not my wife, but I didn't say anything more. (I got a cell phone shortly after anyway.)

In Germany, 405 Watt panels new can be had for 65 euros. The law allows up to 800W to be connected to homes with relatively little bureaucracy, as a balcony solar power plant which renters can install without modifying the building. This seems to have pushed the price down, so there are many 800W kits including panels, an inverter and cables available for under 400 euros.

Mind sharing a link to buy one? Not in Germany but am in Portugal looking to buy

Just skip the test and get a filter for your drinking/cooking water. They're not particularly expensive.

I have one for my kitchen sink that removes PFAS.

I was curious if it was going to be banks. I don't think any of my banks allow yubikeys, yet. Will have to look into that.

Banks are especially bad. I know one bank that has you memorize 7 digits access codes and for authentication asks 4 digits at random places each time.

T-shirts are the easiest thing to fold. The real nightmare is the wife's pile of clothes. Every piece of clothing is unique and different in shape and size. Some of them I wouldn't even know how to wear let alone fold

Wow, gold standard for sure. Is this why iOS zero day costs less than Android one?

Exactly, this is marketing talk. Pixel is secure, get regular updates, lesser target than iphone and in terms of privacy can be "hardened" just by going over the Google services setting menu and opting out of everything. Rest can be achieved by using Firefox (which actually runs on Android not like FF on iOS which is a shell) with ad blockers and choosing a different search engine.

I would argue it's much more secure and more private this way
