Explain why for those who don’t know. Thanks :)

I'm assuming it's because both are presumed to have used steroids, which is the reason that neither are in the hall of fame.

I thought the mention of faith was interesting:

>When I couldn’t get sober, he told me not to give up hope, and he urged me to find my faith. It didn’t have to be his faith or anyone else’s, as long as it was rooted in forgiveness.

I'm not religious, but one of the things I admire religion most for is the concept of redemption. I think this is something that secular culture could work to learn about from religion.

I've found compassion, and especially self- compassion in such cases, to be a particularly useful thing to work towards and develop that is not tied to religion,

Aw man, this sounded like just my kind of place. But...

> It’s a sentiment eagerly embraced by The Dull Men’s Club. Several million members in a number of connected Facebook groups strive to cause dullness in others on a daily basis.

Apparently I'm too dull to even have a FB account. I know it's a bit tongue in cheek, but in the name of maximum dullness, something with UX closer to this site seems much more appropriate than a Facebook group.

I look forward to the settlement in which the company that collects my information with no consent and no opt-out and then fails to secure that information offers me credit monitoring that I can already get for free. Some lawyers will get very rich, though.

How do you get free credit monitoring?

I've been using Superfluent to help learn Spanish and have found it helpful.

Thought it was goofy that I was still reading newsletters through my inbox. I really don't want to open my email unless I'm working. Anyways, some friends and I made Scrollz to fix that and also add some cool features to the newsletter reading experience. AI summaries, newsletter discovery, audio narrations, etc.

I'm also not a fan of email newsletters, and the reading interface of scrollz looks nice, but I'm not understanding how scrollz actually fit into the reading workflow. How do the newsletters in my inbox get opened for reading in scrollz?

I'm not a big fan of reading interviews, so I preferred reading the linked article that was referenced from April 13:

jayemar commented on NASA's Psyche spacecraft hits a speed bump on the way to a metal asteroid   arstechnica.com/space/202... · Posted by u/lisa_k

Interesting read. The main paragraph regarding mission success is probably this:

> So far, there's no effect on the Psyche spacecraft's trajectory. Psyche's plasma thrusters can remain unpowered until at least mid-June before the spacecraft would begin to drift off course, according to NASA. Mission managers decided to keep Psyche's engines turned off until they better understand the pressure decrease. If engineers trace the problem to the fuel line itself, NASA has the option of switching to a backup fuel line to resume thrusting.

Looking forward to see the next non-Trump administration (not that there will be one while he's alive) send him to an Iranian prison due to an "Administrative Error" due to forgetting his "protected status".

Can you expand on what you mean with this comment? Even if it's joke, I don't understand what's being implied.

OVH is a public company.

Public vs private companies are day vs night when it comes to transparency.

jayemar · 6 months ago
Could you expand on this? How are they night and day?
