There is no free speech in Russia anymore. This includes Edward Snowden as long as he's living in Russia. Please just ignore what he's saying until he leaves Russia or Russia becomes a free country again.

The only reason Edward Snowden got asylum in Russia is using him for propaganda.

Agreed, anything Edward Snowden says right now is just propaganda.

Due to all the recent BSD posts I have spent the past month exploring NetBSD and OpenBSD. Really enjoying the journey and finding that I can do everything I am currently doing easily on both.

Not exactly the same feature set, but I’ve replaced Dropbox with Syncthing (open source) and it has been very reliable for my intended use (sync files across my devices).

I also run it on my home server for a central sync point. Don’t use it much on mobile, but works well enough if I do need a file. Not a good solution for sharing with others though.

Syncthing for the win. Has worked fantastic for me for many years across just about an OS you want to use.

One of my first experience with open source was an old OSX app that put the Swatch time into the menubar. But it didn't work on my Mac for some reason so I downloaded the source code and Xcode then I was tinkering around (not sure I knew what I was doing) and managed to compile it and run it successfully.

Internet Time from Yellosoft https://web.archive.org/web/20080509010856/http://yellosoft....

Found a screenshot, it was a dead simple app https://i.imgur.com/yHlAlZY.jpeg

I think I still have the source code somewhere even though the original Github repo is gone. I might reupload it.

I actually have it on my Apple watch and use it with some of my international friends.

First impression feedback: I have no idea what is going on there. None of the keys seem to work or I don't know which of the characters on the screen is me (or both), and it all ends so fast before I can even realise it started.

Edit: Second impression: better. Arrow keys work. Took a while to realise that yellow diamond overlay is me. Maybe pause and make it obvious who the player is. It's chaos at the start with too many moving parts. Nice game all in all once the initial confusion settles.

I gave up after three attempts. Ends too fast for me to find where I am on the screen. I might checkout again if I have time.

I still listen to a lot of prog rock as well as classical, more than I did when I was a teenager or in my 20s. But I also occasionally listen to current popular music with my teenage daughters. Some of it I like, some I do not, but myself and my daughters all agree that they would like to hear some big change in popular music. Not saying it should be a return to something like grunge, but it would be interesting to hear something different like that style was.

From what I can tell there is no actual code with this ebook. It is just posts from Reddit with coding ideas. This post should be removed.

that whole page looks very sketchy. Charging for it no less, I see a take down by Microsoft coming.
