I've had the same journey, same age markers. The sentiment is the same, but at the same time this new world affords me super powers I'm currently drunk on. When that drunkenness becomes a hangover I hope I won't be disappointed.

A framework also gives you someone's expertise in a domain so you don't have to develop that expertise yourself and focus on all the other stuff...

Omarchy didn't grab me. Maybe I didn't have time for a new learning curve on hyprland, maybe something in Arch, who knows... But that's not the point - I just learned about Localsend. So, thanks!

This reminds me of a "web site" (remember those) I used to visit a lot years ago, trying to understand Neural Networks and genetic algorithms:

http://www.ai-junkie.com/ann/evolved/nnt1.html

This is old. Perhaps late 90s or early 00. The top domain still uses Flash. But the same OCR example is used to teach the concept. For some reason, that site made it all click for me.

I’ve probably watched Hackers over a hundred times. My all time favourite movie. My first crush as a young teenager was Burn. It led to a career in software. So many kindred spirits on this thread - makes me smile.

And after 30+ years of watching Hackers, it only occurred to me recently that the biggest noob in the movie Joey beat the Gibson, twice. Sure he had assistance the second time, but still poetic imho.

Hack the planet <3

You’re in the butter zone now, baby!

For me that was War Games that got me into this world and career. Always felt like I owe Broderick a Raspberry Pie or something
