I wish I had bookmarked the incredible deep dive into the multiple algorithm schemes for Tetris piece picking and which families of the game used which algorithms and why. The modern standard (as now dictated by rights holder The Tetris Company) is a bag approach, but has interesting nuances. That one I believe is 7-Bag these days (7-Piece bags). I've also heard a lot of love for 35-Bag which is the approach used by Tetris: The Grand Master 3. (From what little I know about it, TGM is a fascinating "family", especially its use in both tournament and speed running cultures. But because of all the usual drama of Tetris it can be sometimes hard to play TGM in the US as the license holder is Japanese.)

That's a pretty big title change. I'd be discouraged from posting again if that happened to a post from me like that.
httpsterio · 5 months ago
editorialising of the title is not allowed, you're supposed to use the title of the page you're linking to.

node is used extensively on frontend. Massive bundles of js libraries. That is indeed part of the webpage.

And it doesn't matter how typical or not, I'm referencing the case in point.

httpsterio · a year ago
I think you're confusing js with node. node typically doesn't run on the frontend, but can be used when developing the front but it won't be running on the users browser.

Indeed, but when someone of Tao's caliber submits a paper, any editor would (should) make an extra effort to get the very best researchers to referee the paper.

httpsterio · a year ago
depending on the publication the reviewers might not even know who the authors are.

This is exactly what I've wanted to do for a long time. All the apps in the app store are money sucking or ad ridden and unnecessarily cluttered.

I want a simple front end that lets me log lifts to a sheet/database

you could do an ios shortcut that fills a numbers sheet for you

Eye tracking isn't enough--you need to know where the eyes are, not where they are looking.
httpsterio · a year ago
that's the easier part of eye tracking. eye tracker sensors work by working out where your eyes are and determine where you're looking by calculating the angle of your pupils and approximating the direction.

Bitwig is made by ex-Ableton engineers and honestly, it blows Live out of the water in terms of flexibility.

This is what "System Restore" is for: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/use-system-resto...

It looks like they're all registry modifications, yes.

httpsterio · a year ago
I have had issues where a restore point didn't revert certain registry settings and have had to do a full reinstall.
