I suspect the same can be said for workplace sexual harassment and outlooks on diversity. I agree that the programs are dumb and the trainings are dumb, but they have an effect.
After a while the hamburger's will taste different. That's the point when you will surely know the program became self sufficient...

The recording video of a kid's birthday was one of the most ridiculous thing's I've ever seen. I'd maybe record my kid with something like this every once in a while, but I certainly wouldn't be wearing ski goggles while he blows out candles.
I want to believe, but I agree with the author of the post that we need to see some evidence that's outside of the "Low Information Zone"
When you are early to mid career, it is crucial to look for ways to amplify the good you can do in your workplace and solidify your brand as an individual. To do this, you should be looking, ironically, to elevate others. Doing so is the only way to build a reputation that people are going to actively WANT to talk about (e.g. "oh, having trouble? You should call in Jim, he helped me with a related thing"). This is invaluable.
Perhaps I am speaking through a lens, but had I taken the authors advice and taken a more combative role at such a juncture, I believe I would have far fewer opportunities now.
The US needs the world far, far more than the world needs the US, and it's time the world realizes this. Forcing this nation of war-criminals and foreign policy bullies in line is long overdue.
