Every time I ask an LLM to write some UI and model for SwiftUI I have to specify to use @Observable macro (is the new way), which they normally do, after asking for it.

The LLM tells me that they prefere the "older way" because it's more broadly compatible, that's ok if you are aiming for that. But If the programmer doesn't know about that they will be stuck with the LLM calling the shots for them.

Have you tried writing rules for how you want things done, instead of repeating the same things every time?

what are the plans to support design systems? no one seems to be able to do this. prototyping doesn't happen in a vacuum, I'll always want to use the design system we spent months building in Figma.

This seems to focus on online advertising. The question is how would you pay for many things on the internet?

How many things on the internet do you really need and that are paid for via advertising?

I'd argue it's almost the opposite - huge swathes of London are housed in shitty Victorian and Georgian homes and flat conversions, and we can't fix them up or replace them with modern homes because of extreme local conservation laws. Right now I'm living in the most modern home I ever have - a 700sqft 2-bed from the 1960s.

exactly! I do not understand the British obsession for preserving insane amounts of crooked-walled buildings with horrible insulation ratings. zero historical interest, 100% NIMBY-ism. then the general populace mopes about the lack of housing, and dreams 15-minute cities without realising the only way to solve both is tear down what’s taking up space and build tall instead.

Pixie | https://usepixie.com | Lisbon, Portugal | Full time | Onsite/Hybrid

Our app helps small accounting firms streamline and automate workflows for thousands of clients in just 2 weeks or less.

We're already supporting ~700 accounting firms worldwide with just a tiny seed round led by A-tier tech VC investors like Seedcamp, MMC Ventures, and TriplePoint. Players in the space have approached us about acquisitions but we want to go all the way.

Our goal is to have 100,000 firms running on Pixie in the next ten years and we're looking for great talent to join our product team in sunny Lisbon:

- Senior full-stack/product engineers (Ruby on Rails + VueJS): https://landing.jobs/at/pixie/sr-full-stack-engineer-rails-j...

- Mid-level product manager: https://landing.jobs/at/pixie/product-manager-in-lisbon-2022...

cpinto commented on Ask HN: Who's Looking for a Co-Founder?    · Posted by u/break_the_bank

I am bootstrapping UsePixie.com, which is a Basecamp for accountants. Just barely launched in fact. Feedback has been really good and a few firms are using it. Tiny team, distributed, but the company’s UK based.

I’m looking for a full stack tech lead to take over from me, but I’d surely prefer a more experienced/senior long term partner/co-founder.

Tech stack is Rails running on AWS, with sprinkles of Vue in a few key parts of the app.

These are the principles that have guided us so far: https://medium.com/pomarhq/pomars-guiding-principles-ca00356...

If anyone’s interested my email is celso@usepixie.com

cpinto commented on Ask HN: Do you want email parsing API for free?    · Posted by u/jakubdziwisz
cpinto · 6 years ago
No. Although the email parser as a service idea is nice, it has a couple of major downsides.

For starters, it’s now a GDPR world: I want to avoid the risk of breaches on your side affecting mine. Secondly, today you want to send nice compensation emails, tomorrow (under pressure from your board) you start mining the emails for competitive research and increased monetisation. I wouldn’t want to put the reputation of my service on the line for this.
