I'm flattered you liked my description so much! It's a really special project, thanks for sharing it.

I love this, I think this brings "block editing" capabilities to the masses, which is a big selling point for WordPress. In recent months, I've been looking at micro-sites and I concluded that Carrd is king for this type of landing pages/microsites. So this looks very promising for this respect. Either of you care to share or dispel security concerns or describe attack surface? For the past 6 months I've been looking at HUGO sites and the simplest deployment approach I found was alpine/sqlite/hugo containers at 5-10mb in size. Is there a way to delegate control/editing of sections/pages? I think the world needs a simple platform to build sites and delegates sections to respective departments/units. The only platform which seems solid for this is drupal, but it's kind of overkill for SMB orgs.

That's exactly right. We also have other aliases for systems that don't allow + or require special auth via Google/Microsoft and even SSO.

Will it do click-thru journeys to users/customers???

> This is exactly the reason why Computer Vision approaches for parsing PDFs works so well in the real world.

One of the biggest benefits of PDFs though is that they can contain invisible data. E.g. the spec allows me to embed cryptographic proof that I've worked at the companies I claim to have worked at within my resume. But a vision-based approach obviously isn't going to be able to capture that.

What software can be used to write and read this invisible data? I want to document continuous edits to published documents which cannot show these edits until they are reviewed, compiled and revised. I was looking at doing this in word, but we keep word and PDF versions of these documents.

This reads like a hatchet job sponsored by the many verticals which stand to crumble once chat is democratized and federated. Just look at how hard apple is fighting to uphold their snotty elitist chat ecosystem, refusing to allow integration with android. So whoever is paying you for this hatchet job, I hope the 30 pieces of silver are well spent. If this is ragebait, congratulations, you got me!!!

Years at this point. Was a major advantage to using Matrix over pretty much anything else as I wanted a unified messaging system that I could self-host.
bzmrgonz · a month ago
awesome, I too looked at this as a possible open source omni-channel platform. Essentially give retail companies one unified platform for their customer service people to engage customers and be able to elevate chats and invite peers and supervisors to resolve issues. I didnt pursue it, but I had it all built in my head, once I learned about channel bridges :-D. Since you did get your hands dirty, do you think this is possible? retail company plugging whatsapp/messenger/insta messenger/webchat/sms/pbx/imessenger/etc.??? (I think those would cover 99 percent of customers.

Ahaha! The Department of Computer Science are directly responsible for my having written some truly unhinged XML[0] and Oxford will be absolutely lovely in September.

If it's limited to the doorbell, I see no issue with this, who doesn't want cops looking at our front porch and entrance?

It is at least somewhat concerning, and I don't believe there's any need to resort to bigotry to make that case. Simply from the perspective of geopolitics (i.e. the recent statements by Wang Yi stating that Beijing doesn't want Ukraine to prevail over Russia, because that would lead to Washington turning its full attention on Beijing) you can make a case that China and the US are in opposition in a number of important current and future strategic issues. The US involvement in Taiwan, the Chinese involvement in Russia's conflict with Ukraine, are microcosms of a larger contest/conflict.

Ignoring that and pretending that the only reason for concern must be reflexive racism is... unhelpful. The facts in this case are:

The Chinese government maintains a level of influence and control over their billionaires and companies that makes it hard to separate state and private actions.

The sale of this land appears to have been for multiples over the market price, something in the range of 4x in fact.

The parcel of gives access to said small city's water treatment plant yes, but it's also between that and FAA’s Boston ARTCC, which has certain national security implications, especially if a conflict involving Taiwan emerges.

They're reply is self preservation mate. What with, "first they came for Iran, but I am not Iranian, so I didn't speak!!" Only capitalism speaks in absolutes, look at poor Cuba!! And you know what they say about those who speak in absolutes right???

Never have issues with the likes of Meta when self-hosting bridges for Matrix. Beeper's centralisation is likely the issue.
bzmrgonz · a month ago
How long you been running these bridges??
