>THC-A bud you can buy in a smoke shop will be about as potent as recreational/medical marijuana.

Except it tastes like dog farts, on account of its growing irregularities (e.g. lack of sunshine, as you pointed out).

As a personal annecdote, test-sample size of only a few ounces (of "legal weed" [THC-A]), my Volcano vaporizer filter/screen looks entirely different when running illegal/legal products through it:

For THC-A, the screens cake-up quickly with a dense, black, tar-like substance; no green is left within the plant even after fewer runs/hits; the vapoo (depleted marijuana, thrown out) is left lifeless, stunk.

For full-grown marijuana, the vaporizer screen is still dirtied brown, but it's fluffier (cottonlike) and accumulates much. more. slowly. The vapoo still has flecks of green, and nothing appears charred. It smells like popcorn instead of shit-stained bedsheets. "Trim" & "ditch weed" sublimate similarly, albeit for not as long/strong (but tastes better than legal weed, still).

Perhaps the temperature needs to be lowered for THC-A? I don't know, but I ask the few friends I know that buy local (legal THC-A) weed to "bring me a gram of the next `good ounce` you buy from that store, and we'll see what Volcano can do." I have yet to see much deviation from my above-observations.

----

Combusting THC-A ("legal weed") has never been an enjoyable experience [no sunshine == no terpines/flavanoids], but vaping it does still deliver some "high" so I know there must be some weed in there.

> 1. Some workers lose their jobs to automation.

> 2. The remaining ones have a weaker negotiation power, as their jobs are on the way out anyway. So companies have even more incentive to abuse them.

I wonder what the eventual end game is, when you let everything play out to its logical conclusion. Eventually, business owners will no longer need people at all. They'll own a magical fully-automated factory that maintains and repairs itself, and a magical AI box that makes optimal business decisions, and then just sit there owning these magical things and harvesting money every quarter. Humanity consists of the few who own all the boxes, living in opulent luxury, and the many who don't and barely subsist enough to buy the products.

The richest and most powerful will lobby for universal basic income because it will benefit them at some tipping point, where the masses will need to be subsidized to keep the consumption machine running, maybe?

The website design reminds me of my initial forays into website creation in the early 2000s using Dreamweaver.

I heard from some young people the 2000s aesthetic is "in" right now.

We fired staff members for not coming in. This is one of those things where if everyone refuses then what are they going to do? Fire them all?

Long term, I'd be wary though.

> ...what are they going to do? Fire them all?

No need to fire everybody. They just laid off some of the workers and called it a market adjustment. Now the job market is flooded with desperate unemployed. Current employees will be more likely to adopt corporate policy, so they don't have to compete with the masses of job seekers. Job seekers will accept whatever terms they can get, because it's rough out there.

Not me. I'm quitting because employer made the options clear. Either 100% in office or find a new job.

Well, if you want, you are free to decide it's not.

But if you want context, there's a new article from PG people are reacting to.

Can you discuss the data privacy? What happens to my resume if I upload it to you? Are you retaining it? Are you keeping my email and sending me marketing stuff etc etc etc?

Oddly I have the same questions when applying to jobs in general. Some of the interfaces feel like dark alleyways.
bibliotekka commented on Microsoft Recall should make you consider Linux   creativegood.com/blog/24/... · Posted by u/cdme

Linux isn't suitable for the non-tech user, and it will never be. Linux will never reach the peak that Windows has. It's just too clunky.

Those willing to seek something different will embrace but if I gave my mother a computer with Linux installed, I'd never not be tech support.

And my mother is technology oriented. Her first computer was a Wang Labs machine back from the 80's. She can create her own website, operate photoshop and she even built her own system. She's 73.

Recall just doesn't matter to those out of the geek sector. As with privacy for that matter. "I got nothing to hide"
