These perspectives bother me a lot, because I want to invest passively, but if people are out there thinking like that, maybe nothing is priced right...

The market is only "right" in the very long term, and probably not in a way that's useful (companies that die eventually price to 0...but not a useful signal if its riding high all the way before it crashes).

The inputs to FSD are:

    7 cameras x 36fps x 5Mpx x 30s
    48kHz audio
Nav maps and route for next few miles
100Hz kinematics (speed, IMU, odometry, etc)

So if they’re already “fusioning” all these things, why would LIDAR be any different?

Unless you were working at a startup full of very naive people, I gotta say this sounds made up.
ambicapter · 3 days ago
If people at startups weren't slightly naive, they wouldn't attempt an endeavour that has such a low success rate :)

Just smear the heck out of them to stakeholders, after implementing something big and climb over these incompetent shmucks and watch their fall

Serious question: What are the "valid concerns" about people securing their computing devices against third parties?

That embeds an assumption that the outsourced human workers are incapable of thought, and experience/create zero feedback loops of their own.

Frustrated rants about deliverables aside, I don't think that's the case.

Not really, its just obviously true that the communication cycle with your terminal/LLM is faster than with a human over Slack/email.

i am not saying its a good idea, just wondering because you say space has no temperature, but that makes no sense for the reason CMB radiation would prevent you from having 0 k right? and in fact how would you even measure it? wouldn't the measuring device its self have way more then 0K?

plus you would have to insulate the servers from the sun...then have radiators like the ISS... i think its just way easier to run a server on the ground

Why did you say "eventually" in your original post? That answers your question.

Why are they doing any better than any other firm then? Why has Tesla been successful? Why is xAI pretty similar in terms of approach? My idea has less variables than yours. It also doesn't fly with his tendency to fire people.

Have you ever worked at a company? Was how profitable the company was directly related to how high-functioning it was? Not in my experience.

Was the torrent protocol considered at some point? Always surprised how little presence has in the industry considering how good the technology is.

torrent is great for many-to-one type downloads but I assume GP is talking about single machine to single machine transfers.

That flag won't stick. Flagging someone just because you disagree with them is abusing the system. It adds noise and more work for the moderators to actually remove spam and troll comments. There's a downvote button. If you flagged it, then should be obvious to you after a decade of having an account on this site. If you still don't get it, then I can only assume that you're trolling (good luck with that). Also, fix your browser or whatever you use to read hn. Good day. lol

No, I didn't flag your comment lol

Still a terrible apples to oranges comparison.
