That's probably because the app store may offer a delta update patch instead of a full download.

Bitcode size =/= binary size. Your binary sizes will remain similar.
alien3d · 8 years ago
if so okay, but still i do confuse with the limitation of 100mb.Sometimes facebook apps can update more then 100 mb and some apps cannot update over 100 mb.

The same codebase compiled with Xcode 8.3 produces a binary about three times larger at 158MB, including 70MB for bitcode alone.

Apple limit 100 mb per download.. So this big issue for all developer. We need apple to remove the limitation over 100 mb or atleast 1GB.

We are currently planning on switching from Navigator (https://facebook.github.io/react-native/docs/navigator.html) to React Navigation (https://reactnavigation.org/docs/intro/). After seeing Airbnb's React Native Navigation library, I am not sure what to choose any more.

React Navigation seems to be the framework that is endorsed by the react native team. However, Airbnb's React Native Navigation library seems to be more proven since they had been using it in production. I am wondering if anyone know what are the benefits of using React Native Navigation vs React Navigation

I also been testing navigator and also react navigation. Original navigator need more code compare to react navigation .. Now i'm unsure which one to moved on while few weeks ago people arguing react navigation is better.. I also have seen the wix version but i haven't done some testing how it work.

I recently visited Berlin to research about the German Freelance Visa [1] after being rejected by multiple local startups that were looking for Software Engineers with +3 years of work experience. I asked for feedback to one of them and was told that I should not consider myself an "engineer" because I don't have an university degree in the field, even with +9 years of work experience. I asked more people about the topic and most of them agreed that I should call myself a Software Developer instead since I am self-taught. What do you think about it?

EDIT: To add a bit more, I don't mind the title, you always end up doing more or less the same things, many companies love the titles though. Some of my friends have titles like "Lead Developer", "Senior Software Engineer", "CTO", "Back-End Developer", etc and they all do pretty much the same thing that I do, so I don't see the point on nitpicking my resume. I will surely take the advice and start calling myself a "Software Developer" instead of "Software Engineer" because I agree that calling myself an engineer without a formal education is misleading.

Title to me doesnt matter. I dont have degree either .Software arena moved to quick with lots of framework and new platform mobile. Most university will teach basic and some lecturer dont even understand what they teach at all.

People are quick to blame this on Trump, but reading through the comments on a previous article for this incident (http://www.news.com.au/travel/travel-advice/travellers-stori...), it looks like it’s par for the course to test someone’s knowledge on their claimed profession. Here’s a comment from one of the users:

> Had the same experience 12 years ago: admitted I am developing linux device drivers, and had to explain differences between kernel 2.4 and 2.6 APIs. The guy actually understood it.

Testing occupational expertise is not a bad way to find people who are lying. To be able to explain the difference between kernel 2.4 and 2.6 APIs or how to balance a binary search tree are questions one could not possibly answer without actually being in that profession.

Let’s say you’re a hitman traveling to Malaysia to take out the estranged brother of a dictator. Before you go, you’re given a fake passport and character sheet telling you your profession, your family situation, etc. It’s pretty easy to answer questions like “how long have you been working as a photographer?” or “how did you meet your wife?” but a lot more difficult to prepare for questions like “What is the best lense for close ups?”

i just ask hello world in language they know.No point for me asking basseyen formula,or what ever formula. We solve problem client only
alien3d · 9 years ago
for those whom downvote. Im sad for them. As interviewer, what point i ask specific formula while the basic cannot deliver? Each client have their own way doing thing. If the person can do hello world very quick ,for sure he can do any other thing with proper guidance. Some candidate quite scare first time and unable to solve big formula question. Stick with simple and stress level will reduce and i prefer too see what they do how they talk . Its just not about code formula but on how much easier interaction in the future.

Writing software is hard but to me the hardest part is always taking a random abstract concept from someone's mind (or worse, several people) and converting that into something "real" in a fixed timeline and budget. There will have to be lots of tradeoffs and miscues by definition. We are always making something that doesn't already exist, it is creation and creation is hard.

I do agree that tools (and process and ....) can make it less hard but that requires real, active participation. And I think that is even harder...

alien3d · 9 years ago
And also not forget budget. Most think to build like e-commerce like E BAY or next generation Facebook. The mentality yes, but the basic requirement is non. My most problem on development was to many choices and lack of decision making from the client site.

You are no longer running Windows, you are running alien3d's-special-snowflake-version. Please don't be surprised when many third party programs/games no longer run, because, some of my software certainly won't.

Most of the time not much issue.May i know why you need vbscript scripting?
