No mention of who sold these slaves to the Europeans. For 1300 years, right up to the 20th century, the business was dominated by Muslim slavers. Slavery is truly America's original sin and will be a stain on her memory forever, but Europeans didn't just march in and grab them. They bought slaves wholesale from an African dealer network that goes back centuries.
When I see posts in my facebook feed that say unfriend me if you believe x, I always unfriend them even if I don't believe x. If you are not tolerant of different points of view I really don't want to be your friend.
Can't we just keep politics out of the workplace? Who really wants to sit next to the guy who's going to spend a half an hour telling me about my company's “social justice agenda”?

I would love to get started with data analysis. Could anyone point me to a reliable guide that gets me started on the bascis. I'm pretty well versed with Python and have used Pandas before as part of some side projects.
there's a pretty good book out there "Data Science from Scratch" it's all in python and really lays out the workings of popular data science / analysis algorithms without relying heavily on external libraries.
