There is a better alternative to libxslt - xee[1][2]. It was discussed[3] on HN before.

No this isn't always the case.

Perhaps if somebody were to shut down your favourite online shooter without warning you'd be upset, angry and passionate about it.

Some people like myself fall into this same category, we know its a token generator under the hood, but the duality is it's also entertainment in the shape of something that acts like a close friend.

We can see the distinction, evidently some people don't.

This is no different to other hobbies some people may find odd or geeky - hobby horsing, ham radio, cosplay etc etc.

Some person on Twitter (self-proclaimed "Founder of Bedrock") is using ChatGPT to have fun, generate noise and get attention. Meanwhile, some other person (self-proclaimed "CEO of exodusorbitals") on HN hallucinates and/or defames that a person on Twitter:

* has some mental illness (sorry, no right to diagnose)

* it is somehow related to being "an OpenAI investor" (no, just a regular ChatGPT user)

I wonder what the basis is for the description of the 3.7 / 4 ruby releases is. I haven't seen this transition plan with version numbers described outside of this blog post.

Using Farside means the initial redirect goes through Farside, so they are capable of knowing what videos you're watching, what tweets you're looking at, etc. You have to trust them not to monitor this. Using a client-side extension means only the instance you use knows this.

AV1's advantage narrows to ~5% over H.265 at very high data rates, in the same way that MP3 at 320 kbps is competitive with AAC at 320 kbps. I don't care about VMAF or PSNR, I care about looking with my eyes. With x265 on veryslow and AV1 on preset 0/1, and the source being a UHD BD I was downscaling to 1080p, AV1 looked worse even while using a higher bitrate than x265. Current AV1 encoders have issues with small details and have issues with dark scenes. People are trying to fix them (see svt-av1-psy, being merged into SVT-AV1 itself) but the problems aren't fixed yet.
