Editor-in-chief here, happy to answer any questions, as always. We also recently celebrated Public Domain Day with an especially notable crop of books, including The Sound and the Fury, All Quiet on the Western Front, John Steinbeck's first novel, some Hemingway, Gandhi, two Dashiell Hammett novels, and more: https://standardebooks.org/blog/public-domain-day-2025

Hi, Alex. Is there anyway to browser the ebooks filtered by languages? I tried to find some texts in French, but it doesn't seem to have any.

I started contributing to a decompilation project and while I’m not the best decompiler by any stretch of the imagination I’ve thought about streaming while I’m working.

Is there interest in content like this? Are people curious about tells for when assembly is affected by variable sign, struct vs array access, the bonkers things even 30 year old compilers do with control structures, register reuse, etc. and how to coax code into byte equivalent assembly from classic consoles.

I am interested. I learned some basic 8086 assembly during university, read some books on reverse engineering, but never went anywhere further. BTW, are you working on a open source project?

LWN covered this in a now-freely available article: https://lwn.net/Articles/939842/ ; it has a bit more details and context.

About Team links to a edu.cn page in Chinese. It seems a university project but I can't confirm. The Join Us page is another Chinese one. The examples on the home page seem to require JavaScript from baidu.com.

Demos still work with umatrix plugin on. It requires script from unpkg and msecnd(microsoft domain), but not baidu.

It is upstreamed into OpenJDK.

"upstreamed"? Is this feature developed by Microsoft?

I thought libreboot applied to rejoin GNU project long time ago. I remember reading it on /r/reddit. What happened afterwards?

Erlangen commented on Distcc: A fast, free distributed C/C++ compiler   distcc.org/... · Posted by u/eating555
Erlangen · 2 years ago
Isn't it a misnomer to call it a "compiler"? Even it's github README says otherwise,

> distcc is not itself a compiler, but rather a front-end to the GNU C/C++ compiler (gcc), or another compiler of your choice. All the regular gcc options and features work as normal.

Is this the same Paragon that made Paragon Partition Manager back in the 90's?
Erlangen · 2 years ago
I could only find this. So it's definitely a different company.

> Paragon Solutions doesn’t have a website. There’s very little information at all about them online, even if the Tel Aviv-based smartphone surveillance startup’s employees are all over LinkedIn, more than 50 of them. That’s not a bad headcount for a company that’s still in stealth mode.
