Been a freelance dev for years, now beginning a "sabbatical" (love that word).
Planning to do a lot of learning, self-improvement, and projects. Tech-related and not. Preparing for the next volume (not chapter) of life. Refactoring, if you like, among other things.

the first 'ai disaster' will be a corp shirking responsibility by blaming their unchecked automatic bureaucratic processes on ai. Look no further at what HERTZ did sending out automated arrest warrants for erroneous causes, leading to dangerous confrontations with armed police. Luckily no one was killed, but innocent law abiding people were very traumatized.
This was without 'ai' but the blame was nearly close, "oops automated process did it!"
The 'artificial intelligence' has been here (starts with B). Kafka wrote about it comically.

It's Leslie Lamport giving the closing keynote at SCaLE a few months ago. It's title was "Coding Isn't Programming".
I really enjoyed it. And as someone mentioned in another comment, he's got a fun sense of humor. I was there in person and got to meet him and exchange a few words after, which was cool.

I was recently introduced to this at PyCon US. A group of us played it for a good chunk of an evening and had a blast. The vocabulary quickly became an inside joke. I've played it a bit since I got back from the conference to great effect.
They've launched pre-orders for a physical set, but you don't need that in any way to play.
