Care to explain?

I was a diehard Flask fan for years until I finally decided to try FastApi. Wish I switched sooner. Free swaggerdocs is pretty nice, and dependencies get rid of so much code duplication.

A good starter to mess around in is this project https://github.com/tiangolo/full-stack-fastapi-postgresql

Hi HN, long time lurker first time poster.

Check out my startup I made as a solo founder over 2.5 years.

It has:

    Minutely Backups (Point-in-Time Machine)
Grafana and PostHog built in (Insites Analytics)
    Staging Sites
Bi-Directional Git Sync (Develop in PHPStorm/VS Code)
    Custom Emails
API Access for web design agencies
    More!
The backend is in FastAPI

If this sounds good, try it out. If you don’t like it, I’ll refund your plan - no worries.

As an extension developer, I am keen to put my extension on Safari however what is preventing me at this moment is dealing with Dun & Bradstreet to get a DUNS number. A DUNS number is required to sign up to the Apple Developer Program as a corporation. So far I have been pushed to 3 different departments by D&B who keep just hand-balling me to the next department without solving my issue, and this is taking on the order of months. I wish Apple would remove this requirement.

If you haven't reapplied lately, you may want to try again. My corp was just approved for the developer program without having to deal with D&B directly, just a phone call with someone from Apple. I think they simplified the enrolment process.

How does this differ from PlayOnLinux?

They basically do the same thing, but lutris is much nicer with a bigger suite of options.
BayesStreet commented on How does a gas pump know to shut itself off? (1981)   straightdope.com/21341412... · Posted by u/tosh

I worked as a maintenance technician at a gas station for 6 years before I switched into software engineering.

Some interesting things about gas dispensers/pumps:

- What most people call a gas pump is a dispenser. The actual pump is submersed inside the underground gas tank.

- mid grade gas is just premium and regular gas that is gets mixed at the dispenser before the fuel is dispensed.

- Holding the hose up high and pulling the trigger does not allow more fuel to drain from the hose after reaching your prepaid amount

- people drive off with the nozzle still in their car surprisingly often. There is a magnetic breakaway so the hose will disconnect and not pull the dispenser over.

I can probably think of some more of people are interested

Do you happen to know the ratio of regular to premium in mid grade?
