The misaligned incentives for security is the core issue, so stronger regulation is needed. Breach happens? entire executive team ought to get most of their remuneration clawed back.

This assumes the breach is disclosed. Most hide them.

Just because an employee who worked 4.5 months with zero sales gets laid off? This is the problem with social media, now people think whoever makes the most noise is right. I've seen people getting fired for far less and they didn't make a fuss about it anywhere.

No, for the way the anon HR folks and the company as a whole handled it.

It's really and very odd to sign in to use a search engine just so that the search engine can know every search about me.

I'm really upset and just baffled about this trend that this is going on the web especially for search engines.

And Kagi isn't open source either.

0xChain · 2 years ago
Agreed. At least with Brave Search premium you don't need an account for the paid session. I wish Kagi did the same. Instead, it's a "Trust me bro" that they aren't logging search queries.

Sadly, due to some scientists no longer including ethics in their research, by fudging data to keep their funding, siding with corporate interests, and showing their elitism by treating their word for gospel as if they're infallible.
