Has anyone done back of the envelope calculations into how much it costs Apple in bandwidth to push an update?

I wonder if that is a reason there isn’t a stream of x.1 updates every few weeks as things are fixed?

this already happens, but x.1 updates are beta tested. If you’re running the beta channel, you’ll get x.1 updates shortly after launch.

These beta updates can go through a couple iterations before being released to the public, which is why it seems like there’s a long delay.

I would just like to have Mojave kept stable for a few years, security updates included. Keep macOS as a solid platform, and add features through apps. That's pretty much all Apple seems to do each release, make new applications and add-ons, bundle them with the OS and call it an upgrade.

I generally agree with the author, I don't have anything else in the Apple ecosystem so most of the new features are largely worthless to me compared to what I have to give up.

So, they're doing what you want?

Google has become such a garbage company to be honest. Is anything they do nowadays good and honest?

I think Google heavily needs to be split up.

Having worked at many large companies, I can honestly say that Google was the best behaved company of all of them, by far.

I think the difference is that Google has a relatively large contingent of "activist" type employees, and they're given a lot of latitude to speak their mind. When something bad happens, everybody hears about it because the employees are the ones shouting it loudest from the rooftops.

Their track record isn't perfect, and Dragonfly particularly strikes a chord with me. But other companies do worse, and you're just much less likely to hear about it.
