Are there any anti-AI religions yet? Maybe that'd provide an easy way to push back on such extreme mandates.

No. The Butlerian Jihad (https://dune.fandom.com/wiki/Butlerian_Jihad) hasn't happened yet.

I would guess that something similar could exist in the Terminator / Skynet timeline, but I am not aware of the religious beliefs of the humans struggling there.

Of course they are.

Copilot and Recall are not what most users want, but they are what Microsoft wants:

Prototype in Python with PLY (https://github.com/dabeaz/ply) or you could try Raku (https://raku.org/) which has nice functionality for building grammars.

After you know what you want to build, you could convert it to C, C++, or Rust to make it fast.

You could look at BeOS to get an idea and then try to extrapolate and adapt your estimates for today's market and circumstances:

All of the money spent on AI hardware and training models needs ROI.

That's awesome. I never used Lotus, but it sounds like it might have had the same idea before Wordstar which influenced me.

If anyone is curious, there is a Linux port of Lotus123:

thesuperbigfrog commented on Ask HN: Should high schools require students to rebel academically?    · Posted by u/amichail
thesuperbigfrog · 24 days ago
Giving feedback and helping school instruction to be relevant is not "rebellion".

Many school districts will use Parent-Teacher Associations and course feedback forms that students complete at the end of a course to help to improve poor teaching methods and adjust course offerings to ensure that students learn relevant information and skills.
