I can't think of any logical reason to exclude ChromeOS and count it separately, and a good portion of the "Unknown" category may as well be Linux.

The "real" number shouldn't be far from 10%, if not already exceeding it.

tgeorge · 5 months ago
I think the Unknown category could be custom standalone devices like Playstation, FireTV, webOS, and Switch which have browsers to make those stats but could be BSD based. And, I wouldn't exclude ChromeOS also, I thought it's built off of Gentoo Linux.

The Constitution says Congress sets tariffs. The law Trump is using to do this doesn't even contain the word tariff.

Can we please stop this insanity? We had a great economy before this guy messed with it.

This is why we keep economic policy in an independent agency instead of giving it to politicians.

I wonder what happens to their Kasa brand of smart devices then. I have bunch of wall switches and smart power plugs with them.

I never used Notion before but looks pretty interesting. But, I use Navicat and DBeaver for viewing and editing my Postgres tables.

There's free version now for Navicat I noticed yesterday. https://dbeaver.io/download/https://navicat.com/en/download/navicat-premium-lite

>Congestion pricing is cutting off the nose to spite the face. It's dumb, but it does "stop the problem"...

I live in London they brought it in and it's been ok overall. It doesn't stop congestion but reduces it a bit. For commuters it's probably a bit better as they mostly use the train/bus etc and benefit from less traffic. For workmen needing to deliver and fix things it's a bit of a pain. For me living in the center I'd probably take the plus of less traffic over the minus of getting a plumber to visit being expensive.

Re the tax grab - yeah but they have to get tax money from somewhere to pay for services and the like.

I'm curious, in London did they cut the fares for subways when they implemented the tolls?

The one thing that has been bothering me about NYC congestion toll is I figured there was be a cut in the fares for subways and rail to entice more riders. But I don't see that mentioned; just for capital projects it seems.

>>Actually, scratch that – have you used a “smart” TV in the past 5 years? – it’s awful.

I have, but I guess the author hasn't. I've got a 2020 LG CX and it's smooth, works fast, has all the apps I need, including for streaming local media, and it has zero ads. I sort of lost interest after that point, if you can't make a reasonable point right at the start why even continue?

tgeorge · 2 years ago
I have seen ads on my CX at one time but I think I might of disabled them at one point. https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED/comments/8yts0m/ad_blocking_so...

But I don’t think high end TVs like the LG OLEDs are not safe from ADs since it’s extra revenue
