(disclosure Intel Shareholder) I don't think they are one year behind. I think it is more than one year and for a long time they have not been closing in.

If they actually release Panther Lake on 18A this year, so one year to fix yield should be reasonable assumption, right?

The CHIPS Act was the bailout; this is just replacing the previous profit sharing with equity.
tester756 · 2 days ago
It was very messy bailout then

Genuine question-

How does Govt picking winners and losers going to help?

Intel is no Too big to fail Bank. Why save Intel of all chip manufacturers? Wouldnt it be like 25 years too late, with Intel and its heydays !?

Would Govt now ensure parity by investing in "marquee" entities across different industrial domains?

This sort of thing drives me nuts in interviews, when people are like, are you familiar with such-and-such technology?

Yeah, what month?

If you're aware of changes, then explain that there were changes over time, that's it

OpenAPI, microservices segmentation and keeping things small helps a lot. Probably the worst piece of the puzzle is the UI to maintain the coherence but it can be solved.

Microservices increase complexity by a lot.

i mean he's not wrong, it china has ultimate plans to take over and run their competitors - then putting a figurehead in place at Intel to slowly kill the company, makes sense.

Just because it sounds logically doesn't mean it is true - that Lip wants to sabotage Intel, wtf.

The hits keep coming for Intel. They can’t catch a break. The board should have never fired Pat Gelsinger. He had the right plan. It was always going to be a painful turnaround and they just had no stomach for it.

It feels like he overinvested in fabs.

Mindfactory is widely used as proxy because its pretty much the only public data source on this that publishes monthly

If you have a better source I'm all ears

tester756 · 19 days ago
If we know that source is not representative, then why bother with drawing conclusions as extreme?

Someone with a gun to their head is the only party that would buy it.

Latest mindfactory data suggests that in gaming consumer space is now 96% AMD, 4% Intel. Seriously:

And doesn't sound like their next or next next nodes are in good shape either

That makes you think that this data is representative?
