Here's a nice parsing of all the important financials from an SEC report. This used to be really hard a few years ago.

> What happens when a country's banking system fails.

The people who looted it transport their ill-gotten gains away via Bitcoin, often enough.

What should the average citizen of that country do in that case?

I respectfully disagree. Even if you told me that you felt like working at the UN was a waste of time, I’d still tell you that at least you contributed to a historically unique global institution which at least strives to bring people across the world together.

Bitcoin was just a waste of talent and resources.

Crypto makes perfect sense if you just understand it's for doing illegal stuff.

No moral judgement, but the only viable use case for the blockchain is doing things with money that the authorities don't want you to do.

Other than that, no, there is no use for a distributed database because doing financial transactions with people you can't even trust to abide by the law is generally a bad idea.

Yes. It started with the BS of "US would undermine the EU’s global leadership in road safety, public health, climate policy and competitiveness.". The only thing the EU has a global leadership is killing everything with regulations and bureaucracy.

Can you share your sources or data where it says US is safer in terms of road safety.?

What will it do to Jony Ive’s legacy if his OpenAI device is no more successful than Snapchat’s foray into hardware?

If OpenAI becomes an also-ran by the time the hardware is released, this seems like a real possibility no matter how well-designed it is.

Did he come up with the butterfly keyboard as well?

Probably all of the ML foundation like transformers which OpenAI used to create its chatbot was originally developed at Google.

The people who wrote that paper left Google though.
