Nope, Adobe will make sure all its apps require Adobe App Store. Same for Facebook with Whatsapp. No more stupid Apple store restrictions, yay!!

What will actually happen: "honey, something is wrong with my phone, whenever I unlock it, a popup jumps up that says 'Please update the Adobe™ Updater™ to get up to date Adobe™ Software Updates', could you take a look at it?"
Talking to co-workers can be quite fulfilling and exciting when conversing about engineering, marketing, or other work related subjects you are passionate about. However, anytime politics, etc are brought up I (for one) leave the conversation feeling in a worse state of mind than when I first got into it. That is very unproductive.
For this reason, I believe that the workplace should be left to work related things (including conversations) and anything else should ideally be done out of work. Even if involving the same group of people.

I solved this problem by using three methods - homeassistant is number one. The second, is only integrating / purchasing devices that I can either manually flash open source software on (think tasmota for instance,) or the solution's API has been re'd. The third thing is Shelly. Shelly products are the shit. I'm not a shill either; I've purchased every single Shelly I own (~40.)
Shelly makes automating lights and switches amazing because you don't replace the switch, they're literally wife proof. I've also flashed all my Shelly devices to communicate to homeassistant directly, however they have native non cloud integration capabilities.
Again, this doesn't solve the main problem of fragmentation - home assistant addresses this by being a black box, but it's not for normies, I don't know how it ever could be. It has gotten super slick though. The other issue is stuff like Shelly requires a technical brain - the way they're installed you'd be playing with mains current, and no Suzie home maker should be doing that...
(No, that's not because of Elonian tendencies - quite the opposite, in fact: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31625029)
I have never been able to downvote. I dont know how. And yet I see legitimate questions getting downvoted for no reason in Apple threads. Pretty one sided to me.
I am not going to claim freedom of speech. I see the value in your work and the site. But I also need to point out the increasing responses Elonian and Apple posts get vs dismal responses to importsnt issues.
Also, just dump your old stuff every year, sine you dont want to be that uncool kid, doyou? All the coal melting, molding, glass, labor, CO2, is worthless now. And while youre here, it will be one kidney or a yearlong service for a low price of $50, which if you give us all your financial history you can get a 3% cashback on.

We’ll basically lose a whole stack of the guarantees about data, app operation that Apple was able to enforce on hostile, belligerent companies like fb because of their position.
