Let's all cheer this new era coming. Soon or you pay half your salary for AI since it will be so advanced or you will be unemployed impossible to compete with people subscribed to AI. Sure it may not happen (exactly) this way but look at this pricing, 200+/month and the fact is it is just the beginning.

As a product manager who has been paying an overseas developer $4,000 a month, I'm getting quite close to replace him with a $100 a month Claude Max subscription. These high subscription costs are nothing compared to the low level employees that will be replaced or supplemented.

The story of minor Chinese celebrity Wang Xing who was abducted in Thailand forced into a scam call center in Myanmar as really shined a light on this scam call center issue. As a result of these scams in Thailand, the Telecoms and Banks have added restrictive measures like limiting person to person transfer amounts and KYC on all SIM cards. We can't have nice things.

On iPhone 15 you can set the "Action Button" to ChatGTP voice, which is a nice proxy for what Siri could be.

smoovb commented on Are electric cars that much cheaper to operate?   pavlinbg.com/posts/are-el... · Posted by u/Pavlinbg

In Washington, at $0.10 per kWh, over 200k miles, the Model Y at $42k was the same cost as a Highlander or equivalent $50k to $60k car. Due to higher tire costs and depreciation. And Washington has some of the highest gas prices in the country.

However, Model Y was still preferable to buy since it's so convenient to charge at home, and it is convenient to never have to do oil changes and all that crap. Plus it drives much better than a Highlander or equivalent ICE. If only it had CarPlay.

But if my electricity costs were like California or NYC, I would easily opt for a hybrid ICE.

Am paying 0.044 per kWh with super off peak timed home charging 11pm - 7am in Washington.

> With two oil changes needed per year at an average cost of $100 each, the additional expense shortens the break-even period by approximately 0.5 years.

Add 10 mins there and back, the booking and you're looking at 1hr for this event. If it costs $100 and you consider your time, gas too and from... You could easily bump this cost to $200, or double in real costs.

Bitcoin has no intrinsic value. It is not backed by anything real.

Gold has its uses. It’s a pretty metal and has practical uses in engineering and medicine.

It has been a choice for jewelry for thousands of years.

Paper bills, or “fiat” money, also have no intrinsic value.

Using paper money has already defined you as a participant in accepting the societal construct of money.

As such, Bitcoin having no intrinsic is not novel or consequential and has no bearing on its utility.
