Any commercial products using ESP?

A lot of Shelly devices use ESP chips: https://www.shelly.com/ - And they are hackable!

Lack of self irony... I was also looking for this :)

Having just re watched the show, it is remarkable how little changed for the better...

For people looking for a new phone it could be either Jolla [0] or Fairphone 6 [1]. Both come with their own OS.

I did something similar with pulseaudio about 15 years ago, had an old thinkpad running Debian, and then multicast activated on my source. Worked surprisingly well!

Does anyone know of a browser plugin that would filter out all posts that I haven't subscribed to? In theory it should be possible by grabbing my list of friends (and, optionally, of the pages I liked). In practice, I expect Meta implemented an aggressive scheme to prevent that and further confuse FB users.

fbpurity.com works quite well for me on desktop, on m.facebook.com, it does not.

It also makes it painfully clear how little user interaction there is publicly on the site...

Some may even be oblivious to the fact that the article is from 2004 ;)

Deepfakes weren't even a fever dream yet.

My brain swapped the second zero to a two... But I did think the 1990 reference a little odd..

unrelated, does bluetooth work well with the MX Master 3s?
slmkbh · 2 years ago
I use the 2S and the 3 over Bluetooth (Windows 10 and Linux (Pipewire/pulseaudio)) and they generally work well. But on Linux I sometimes get lagging sound on my bt headphones, when I use the mouse heavily, and on Windows I get a rubber band effect on the mouse when I use a headset for calls, but not music. ymmv

I've originally started developing Mikoto as a Discord extension, but pivoted when I realized that it was against their TOS + there's only much you can do if you only have a partial control over the stack.

We're open source, at https://github.com/mikotoIO/mikoto. We also will have a very comprehensive extension API, powered through iframes + wasm "containers". We also focus our features on superusers, and will eventually seek monetization through selling integration and enterprise hosting.

> Yes, a Windows installation means a gaming portable is compatible with almost every PC game ever made, including many that still don't run on SteamOS for one reason or another. But SteamOS's robust Proton compatibility layer means an ever-expanding list of thousands of games are certified as at least "Playable"

That's the pitch? Some games that run fine on Windows 'might' work acceptably on SteamOS?

SteamOS doesn't do anything besides play games distributed on Steam. There's absolutely no benefit for a Windows OEM to drop it for an OS that has < 1% market share.

Not everybody has the luxury of purchasing different computing devices for different use cases. An ASUS ROG will play games (Steam + everything else), but it's also a real computer you can write programs on or school papers with.

We need to reverse the tide of electronic products getting dumbed down every year in the name of "user experience".

SteamOS literally has a desktop mode, standard KDE, and you can install any applications that are in Arch repos or served as flatpaks.
