sammyjoe72 commented on Henry Kissinger Has Died   nytimes.com/2023/11/29/us... · Posted by u/Kye

As a person from the third world and more specifically Africa, I cannot find myself to mourn his death or say any good thing about Kissinger. Good riddance actually. I would have loved to see him get his day in court when he was still alive.

What he masterminded in Angola and several other African countries that ended up in civil wars because of him are some of the greatest atrocities to people of the third world.

I wish history would remember as such, but hey, we don't write the history, they did.

There are plenty of people all around the world who know what heinous things he did. He won’t ever be mourned, and hopefully we never see the likes of him again

I ran a miab for about 5 years, maybe around 2018, I also actively tried to do extra things that would improve delivery, including registering postmaster accounts on the various postmaster whitelist tools etc in order to increase the chances my mail would be delivered.

Unfortunately if you host your mail on linode/digital ocean, you will eventually be blocked, and mst of your email will end up in spam folders.

This year after 13 years of running my own mail services, I finally gave up, I was sending emails and then sending followup “did you get my email” messages from gmail

We have this thing called voting where we could chose senators that do work for us.

Imagine if everyone turned out to vote .. why doesn’t the US do it on a weekend, or make it some kind of holiday, why is it a Tuesday?

Last time I looked at this I couldn't really find an easy standard way to make HTTPS API calls and parse JSON, but only spent an hour or two playing with it. Can you point me at the canonical way to do this? What's the Requests of FreePascal?

> If such a pause cannot be promptly established, regulatory bodies should intervene and declare a suspension.

Wow. This pushes my buttons! And should redden the face of anyone asking for the same in the AI field.

> Cornelius Cryomesh, Liquid Nitrogen Wholesaler

It even has the plain-as-day conflicts of interest! Beautiful!

Doesn't that make it a good joke?

I guess, but I’m checking HN for LK99 updates, because of the bs filter here… if I want garbage I’ll go to reddit.

I respect the effort of this satire, but the timing is kind of annoying.

I’m conflicted on this one, it has both saved me, and also almost caused a real crash… it’s save me twice when reversing, once a guy pulled in behind me after I had checked mirrors and started reversing, and the auto brake engaged and saved a collision… but it has also jammed the brakes on when driving down the street because it detected an obstacle that was fixed, and I was driving around it comfortably
