I actually really liked the product when I worked at Meta. Wish we had something like this at Google.

I wish the article would give us the valuation number rather than the price per share.

I'd be interested in the IPO alerts newsletter he mentioned at the beginning. I was recently thinking about building an IPO prediction website and newsletter, where users could vote on the probability that startups will have an IPO during a given year. (e.g. Q1 2023, Q2, Q3)

It could be interesting to integrate a prediction market like PredictIt [1] (although I heard they got into some trouble recently.) I also started to worry about getting in trouble with the SEC, in case people start to win bets by using insider information.

Anyway, does anyone have any predictions about the next IPO window? E.g. When do you think Stripe might have an IPO?

I built an upcoming IPOs app (https://ipowatch.app/). I monetized by creating mobile apps and showing banner ads there, but they didn't make much.

This is really cool. I've worked on a lot of side projects in my free time, and my most successful one (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id1607228378) pulls in just $11 in MRR. Even though it's so little, I get really excited when I get a new subscription or a subscription renews.

I've had a lot of trouble trying to market the app. I've experimented with Instagram ads, but the conversion rates were really bad. I'll try the Instagram accounts strategy you mentioned and hopefully that helps.

> We have a history of net losses and we may not be able to achieve or maintain profitability in the future.

This is boilerplate and isn't notable. [0]

Agreed but what is noticeable is how much greater the losses are this year (with still three months to go).

2018: $97.2m

2019: $86.0m

2020: $203.2m

Not sure if you've used shortcuts on iOS but a lot of those customizations don't change the performance of anything. The shortcuts on an iphone add a half second each time you use the app, because the icon has to open the shortcuts app THEN open the app the shortcut is linked to.

If adding a sticker to your laptop increased the boot time a fraction of a second some people would still do it, but many would it find it maddening!

Half a second is actually quite a big deal.

"A delay of less than 100 milliseconds feels instant to a user, but a delay between 100 and 300 milliseconds is perceptible. A delay between 300 and 1,000 milliseconds makes the user feel like a machine is working, but if the delay is above 1,000 milliseconds, your user will likely start to mentally context-switch."
