I'm curious, what does it say on /model?

For reference, my options are:

I got a notification when I opened it, indicating that the default had changed, and I can see it on /model.

Only on a max (20x) account, not there on a Pro one.

novaleaf · 13 days ago
thanks, FYI I'm on a max 20x also and I don't see it!

Literally the first thing I thought when I read how claude counts usage is "I need to set up a cron job to do one claude request before I wake up, so my work day is split in half on the 7 hour bucket times. So probably 5AM, my tokens reset at 12, then reset again at 7.
novaleaf · 13 days ago
yeah, which is easy to do with the cli command.

though I personally just make a single request right when I wake up, before making coffee.

from the link:

I asked claude code for a guidelines file so it would collaborate with windsurf. This is what it proposed:

---

This project uses shared planning documents for collaboration with Claude Code. Please:

    1. First read and understand these files:

       - PLAN.md - current project roadmap and objectives

       - ARCHITECTURE.md - technical decisions and system design

       - TODO.md - current tasks and their status

       - DECISIONS.md - decision history with rationale

       - COLLABORATION.md - handoff notes from other tools

    2. Before making any significant changes, check these documents for:

       - Existing architectural decisions

       - Current sprint priorities

       - Tasks already in progress

       - Previous context from Claude Code

    3. After completing work, update the relevant planning documents with:

       - Task completion status

       - New decisions made

       - Any changes to architecture or approach

       - Notes for future collaboration

Always treat these files as the single source of truth for project state.

problem is that claude doesn't actually read those or keep them in context unless you prompt it to. it has to be in CLAUDE.md or it'll quickly forget about the contents

I am hesitant to post this because of JFK JR and ignoring with the politicians in power against ASD.

Gait is not constant in the stride. It all depends on the footwear. The constant for me is being silent while walking. Be the ball of your feet or the heels. Having auditory issues / sensitive to sound, I walk to be silent and unheard.

Walking and scaring wildlife and other humans was a personally taught process. I cannot stand clothing that makes noise while moving nor the sound of my own footsteps. It is also a means to allow for listening of my environment so I am not shocked or surprised.

This also why it is extremely hard to spoke me.

Silence is gold because it allows me filter in the environment. I want to hear the person walking behind me or were I cannot see. I want to walk up to a person and they don't know. This also reduces engagements.

Walking on the ball of your feet is silent up to the point of stretching and cracking your bones. Walking on the heels is also silent when reducing push down with long heel to toe arch. All of course it is defined by the footage and how they squeeze during application to the to the ground dependent on the gait.

The gait and noise it makes also highlights if an aspie has a grander stimulus to sound or not. Those that do not have auditory issues will easily pound their heels into their ground and make the floor shake.

lots of households don't wear shoes indoors. heel stomping around is much, much louder than ball-walking.

I find the very popular response of "you're just not using it right" to be big copout for LLMs, especially at the scale we see today. It's hard to think of any other major tech product where it's acceptable to shift so much blame on the user. Typically if a user doesn't find value in the product, we agree that the product is poorly designed/implemented, not that the user is bad. But AI seems somehow exempt from this sentiment

I've spent the last 2 months trying to figure out how to utilize AI properly, and only in the last week do I feel that I've hit upon a workflow that's actually a force multiplier (vs divisor).

I take care of an outdoor cat in the neighborhood, and yes it's possible that a coyote will eat a cat or small dog.

I live near a trail which also serves as a wildlife corridor, including coyotes that we regularly see on our dog walks. Years ago, we had a feral cat that we would feed and care for (including neutering). He remained outside because he refused to even be brought inside, let alone live with us. This guy was huge, and looked like he had won his share of fights with the scars to prove it. If a cat would survive in the wild, it would be this guy. But even he wasn’t tough enough to hold off (what I assume were) coyotes forever, and one day he just quit coming around.

After that I’ve noticed that we just don’t have outdoor cats in our neighborhood.

(And for context, we aren't out in the boonies; this is within the city limits of Redmond, WA, where the local elementary gets locked down about once a year because mama bear and her cubs showed up off that same trail.)

I'm in cottage lake woodinville, same.

Even more bizarre I fenced in my yard hoping to keep out the rabbits, but they always find a way in. Last winter I went out there and found a dismembered rabbit in the middle of the yard. I went to get a bag to pick it up, and when I got back, all that was left were a couple feet. An eagle maybe? I left the feet, but nothing came to get them :D

This is why I don't like open sourcing my projects anymore. Someone else with more resources just forks it and makes profits, thinking that merely acknowledging me pays my bills.

For years, ollama didn't acknowledge llama.cpp and r/localllama found it weird until they finally mentioned llama.cpp on their page, but the damage is done: most apps that support local LLMs only support ollama or LM Studio API, not the original llama.cpp.

The MPL 2.0 is a great compromise. it's basically as permissive as the MIT, but the source code must be made available.
