this is similar to tiktok getting banned because the data doesnt reside in the US anymore, meanwhile the NSA has unrestricted access and data privacy doesn't apply to foreigners (we can snoop on anybody who's not a US citizen). honestly private data should be illegal, public behavioral data should be public, and censorship is always wrong

Somewhat similar tool to Autokey for MacOS that I use as a text expander.
Allows for great customization - appending ; to a phrase ensures you don't accidentally expand a keystroke into a phrase/URL/etc
";url" expands into "whatever string you configure"
yep, came here to comment this, I use backtick wrapping for tons of shortcuts, probably have 50+

The trickle down effects of Apple being a $3T corporation that is widely beloved and did it all on the back of a fiercely guarded walled garden.
I personally think Apple does things correctly, and they do charge a premium, but they sell good products rather than requiring more of your time and energy (ads)
advertisements are saturating everything, and I think chat gpt is replacing google largely due to this, avoiding quora and blogspam
