you press a keybind and then press one or two characters , all instances of that character pair in the viewport will get get a hint (a characteror two in highlight) , hit those two hint keys and the cursor jumps to that location
its incredibly fast to navigate around your viewport with this.
I remember reading 1984 when I was a kid and enjoying it, at no point did I think it was more than sci-fi though. I suppose it goes to show how much we took for granted the last 80+ years.
It also makes me respect Orwell so much more. Which was already very high based on how he makes tea. How was he able to see you presciently?

The few features you really need to know for VIM are mostly in `:help motion.txt`. Knowledge of other features is obviously helpful in actually editing text, but being able to navigate well should remove most of the bottlenecks, especially considering how most VIM commands take motion into account.
I'm of the same opinion as you, drying oil polymers are still plastic, it's just that their method of curing makes them look better on wood, most likely because of the very thin layer that remains at the surface, but also because of the polymer surface texture.
Every epoxy resin, even the more penetrant ones, end up looking like plastic on wood, not sure how else to describe it.
But in terms of chemistry, food safety and how inert they are, they are indistinguishable.
I'm also aware mineral oil is food safe, I was trying to say that it will leak into the hot food and not stay in the wood fibers, which renders the finish useless after just one use.
I came at your article from a slightly different perspective. Rubio monocoat is quite expensive, especially if you’re trying to run a business selling products coated in it. You’re probably already aware, but I think base Rubio is essentially oil + carnauba + a small amount of paraffin. I make large pieces of furniture, and finishing with Rubio can go through multiple cans! So making my own finish has become a priority. That’s not even accounting for Blacktail Studio coating too.
It's also imperative to mention in every DOGE-related discussion and conversation that the funding freeze to USAID is directly responsible for killing thousands of people [0]. Most of the damage done by DOGE can probably be reversed, but the thousands of death as a direct result of actions taken by the richest man in the world should not be forgotten. (Although I'm told there is a bit of uncertainty with any specific figures because the funding disruption also impacted the mechanisms for tracking and reporting deaths.)

I say this not to defend DOGE but rather to emphasize that we should always make abundantly clear the humanitarian disaster in Ukraine lies solely with Putin
Maybe not massive commercial potential but it was pretty amazing and reminded me a bit of the Babel fish which use to seem like impossible sci-fi
That assertion is unsupported and unproven.
Also, if a commercial use for LLMs is ever found, it will be in the local, personal computing market, not the "cloud".
Though I do agree that many of the breathless claims that you can stop hiring or even layoff developers because of LLMs seem unsubstantiated
I’m no political wonk, and I’m curious what others with more insight might say about his ability to fund and implement his polices.
I’m reminided of Obama and his hopeful message but he was mostly stymied on policy goals. Specifically Obamacare as an example ended up being watered down
The solution in the east bay seems to be “don’t use a valuable bike”
