I find it a hilarious instance of California insularity that the grandparent post thinks it "doesn't matter what it is" -- I'm guessing that he'd failed to consider the fact that non-left causes even exist.
Every day I look at the lazy beast and wonder at the simplicity of its existence. Give me that life and an allowance for supplies to create, eat, socialize, and travel and let me loose.
But, if actually given the opportunity, I doubt most people would take it!
That's already the case, imo.
As always, people who do make learning new things a part of their life's rituals will generally be more successful than those who do not.

The article assumes we know, but I haven't heard of it. And the wikipedia article on "neuromorphic engineering" talks about stuff like analog circuits, copying how neurons work, and memristors, none of which seem that related.
