> Norton, Kaspersky, Zscaler, F-secure, NordVPN, Virustotal, Palo Alto: all of them marked these links as safe.

This is sad to see, these tools are forced down so many companies in name of "compliance" while totally not worth the maintenance and cost overhead. Apparently they haven't got any better in the last decade.

I work for a cybersecurity company, and I think that the method they used to check these links with the mentioned security companies was not a reflection of how they detect. I'm sure that many of these companies do not have these domains in their DBs of bad sites but if you were to run these products and then visit the site then heuristic detection would have likely flagged the sites.

This probably relates to the Bing Search API. A lot of these alternative search engines are using Bing for the organic results.

This has got to be somewhat interesting to Bing, Google and Brave?

I really struggle with 1:1s primarily because:

1. Do you want career growth?

No, and its hard to tell that to my manager. More growth leads to more responsibility, which is more stress. I'm happy where I am and I don't want promotions.

I'm afraid to tell my manager that, because which manager wants an unambitious engineer? There was someone like that on our team and he was laid off in the last layoff round, so I have to "pretend" I'm working towards the next level.

2. Do you want more interesting work?

Also no, I'm perfectly happy maintaining our current codebase, not interested in new and shiny projects because my most interesting time is spent at home with my kiddo.

Any tips on how I can handle my 1:1s?

Agreed with the other comments here. I would love to hear this as an engineering manager. I fear the work becoming stale for my team and push growth opportunities to keep things interesting.

I feel like this is a bit of a controversial topic. With better planning an architectural specialist is less important and people with domain knowledge on the product itself is better. Thoughts?
