I'm sorry but I have to reuse an old comment:

Pournelle's Iron Law of Bureaucracy states that in any bureaucratic organization there will be two kinds of people: First, there will be those who are devoted to the goals of the organization. Examples are dedicated classroom teachers in an educational bureaucracy, many of the engineers and launch technicians and scientists at NASA, even some agricultural scientists and advisors in the former Soviet Union collective farming administration.

Secondly, there will be those dedicated to the organization itself. Examples are many of the administrators in the education system, many professors of education, many teachers union officials, much of the NASA headquarters staff, etc.

The Iron Law states that in every case the second group will gain and keep control of the organization. It will write the rules, and control promotions within the organization.

Eh, Larry Summers is on this board. That means they're now going to protect business interests.

OpenAI is now just a tool used by Businesses. And they dont have a good history of benefitting humanity recently.

Larry Summers is EA and State, so not so sure about business interests

If that's the threshold than almost anything is good. It doesn't need to be philosophical, but there's a difference in giving an effort in creating something or just chucking out content. All the dialogue is just so basic it's almost weird and like listening to aliens pretending to be human. When they get a phone in about a new case you first hear the problem, then it gets repeated word for word to the crew, a.k.a. the very cheap way to add 15 seconds of content with 0 effort.

In terms of story and dialogue, Peppa Pig is quite ok, as is Ben and Hollys little kingdom. Both British, of course :)

To you it's sad that Spain is progressive? What would rather it be? Regressive?
kofejnik · 2 years ago
“Progressive” means a set of certain policies, and not actually progressive

Sadly, the word has been thoroughly hijacked

I understand being afraid of a car crash. I can understand doing the wrong thing out of fear. Driving an SUV is wrong, but hardly an unforgivable sin.

But I don't think you can be let off that easy. You seem to have come up with some way to technically admit you are in the wrong without really confronting it. What is "totally cool" supposed to mean? Does being "totally cool" with something mean it is moral, or does it just mean you don't feel angry about it? Why would you defend a decision based on whether or not it makes you "feel bad"? These words are weaselly. They dismiss the moral element of your actions without really addressing it.

If you're in the right, prove it. If you're in the wrong, admit it.

The second time I arrived at a privatized subreddit, I added all of Reddit to my ublock list. A few days later, I don’t feel like anything is missing
