This sounds great, until those states hate each other and want to get one over on the other one, even if they're ideologically aligned.

kennyloginz commented on Our Response to Mississippi's Age Assurance Law   bsky.social/about/blog/08... · Posted by u/Kye

You’re going to see more of this heavy-handed response, especially from smaller sites or decentralized services.

As I’ve argued on past threads about these laws: the internet was neither built nor intended for children. Nobody can get online without some adult intervention (paying for an ISP), and that’s the only age check that’s ever needed.

For everything else, it’s up to parents or guardians to implement filters, content controls, and blocks.

I mostly agree with you , except there are plenty of ways for non-adults to get access to the internet without adult intervention. ( libraries, friends, McDonald’s hotspots. )

Is this sarcasm? I can’t tell anymore. Unless your ideas aren’t new, this is just impossible.

I used to work at a biz in the states selling modified ps4 and xbone controllers, they weren’t cheap and the money was kept in the states.

I think Mixxx is for live mixing only. Still a good piece of software though!

It’s not for live mixing only.

Yes, I agree, there's definitely that. I know I would not be alive now if I had easy access to a gun.

But the parent is talking about the USA having more self-defence freedoms, and gun ownership is definitely part of that. It's not about suicide, it's that weird "you gotta protect your family" that non-Americans find a bit worrying - what are you so scared of? I've lived in a few countries and nowhere I've lived has this level of fear. I've never felt that I would be safer if I owned a gun. I have no idea who I'd use it against (except myself, obviously).

Americans have a recent history of slavery. They believe since they would be aggressive if emerging from the same situation, that African Americans would be equally aggressive. Which is why most American own guns…
