Tangentially related, but I can’t help but think what Haiti could be today had they elected Wyclef Jean. Regardless of his abilities as a politician, as an international celebrity, he could’ve brought unity and investment to Haiti.

If you’ll forgive me, I don’t think he could’ve done much worse.

The President is usually controlled by the 'Oligarchs' which are a few ultra wealthy families that have controlled the Economy. Anyone attempting to do otherwise then following their lead ends up Dead, or deposed by some coup d'Etat.

Ah yes, I've travelled that road many times and it burnt me out. I've learned to 'let it go' and move on, not easy though.

I just don't understand why cities in California won't let go of single unit zoning.

Single unit is the most expensive and least efficient zoning rule. Getting rid of it would bring housing costs down.

Ever visit a beautiful city like Paris, Copenhagen, Milan and wonder why we don't have that? It would be illegal to make the buildings they have under our zoning code and parking mandates!

A funny, yet very well researched video on that exact same topic of Zoning nonsense. Entertaining AND informative.

This demonstrates to me the 'power' of the mind, similar to the placebo effect? If a belief is objectively 'true' or not is irrelevant, what the mind believes and is able to immerse itself into can manifest some unexplained results.

Of course, I'm not advocating any superstitions, but simply it seems that powerful beliefs can yield astonishing results sometimes (good or bad).

So if the reds start parachuting down over your community you should just sit pretty lest you interfere with your military’s operations?

The equivalence is not a false one in my eyes because a cyberattack against a US national’s systems should be seen as an attack on a US national’s property.

Wow, the 'Reds' is a term which I had not seen in a while, feels like I'm watching an early 80's cold war movie.
