Pedantically speaking, all the text and images you see on your screen are electromagnetic field and are manipulating your nervous system.

For one of charges in the indictment, "Operation of an Unlicensed Money Transmitting Business" (18 USC § 1960), they allege that BTC-e satisfied two conditions, either of which alone would have been sufficient to prove the charge. One of the conditions is knowingly transmitting funds derived from a criminal offense, but the other one is just "fail[ing] to comply with the money transmitting business registration requirements set forth in [31 USC § 5330]". So I'd say the BTC-e stuff is indeed part of "what he's charged with", albeit not the main focus.

This is ridiculous overreach. It sets a dangerous precedent where any online trader must be mindful of all legislation of all possible jurisdictions on the world.

Otherwise, sell porn, have one customer from Saudi Arabia, go for a vacation in Turkey, and here comes your flogging extradition trip.

At the same time, US has a "Hague invasion act" authorizing military action against international prosecution of their officials.

I don't know the full context of what is going on legally, but I do know that being threatened is not the same thing as getting sued. And getting sued is not the same thing as them having a case. And them having a case is not the same thing as you not having a defense.

Lawyers exist for a reason. Don't let other lawyers bully you with threats. Get your own lawyer to look into things. Back down if it makes sense. Sometimes it does. But don't back down just because you get threatened.

Do you also know that even talking to a lawyer when threatened costs money? And that Zillow is likely to have way more money to spend on lawyers than a blog?

Solving origami (2d) was the task of 2017 ICFP programming contest. I wonder how this MIT approach would work for that task.

Actually the central planners did plan backups and alternatives for everything. With all its flaws even the SU was not so flawed to let total idiots make every economic decision.

Just think of Mig and Sukhoi, for a simple example. Or NPO-Saturn and Tumansky, if you prefer jet-engine manufacturers.

> not so flawed to let total idiots make every economic decision

You might want to read up on Khruschev's corn farming plans, Gorbachev's prohibition, Mao's backyard furnaces and many more. Slightly tangent, check on Trofim Lysenko's anti-genetics antics. USSR style socialism explicitly declared ideology over science, engineering and what not. And by ideology they meant whatever The Great Leader says.

I wonder if they considered a half-loop launch, toss bombing style. That way they could dump the wing, perhaps at a price of higher strength requirements.
